The War

Date: August 8th. Starting: Around 10:00AM Winding down: Around 5:00

Place: Crestview Park, Topeka, KS

Directions:
From Manhattan or anywhere else west. Take I-70 East to Topeka. Or if from Manhattan you can take Highway 24 to Highway 75 then on to Westbound I-70. Then for both directions- Take exit 355 onto I-470. Continue until you reach exit 3, take that, turn left and you will be on 29th street. You will come up to the intersection of 29th and Fairlawn. Turn left on Fairlawn and follow the crude map I made. Turn right on Shunga, and choose the far parking which is marked in red. Follow Green then Yellow.

From Wichita/Emporia or anywhere else south: Take I-335 from Emporia and I-30 from Wichita until Emporia.
Take exit 177 onto 1-470 W/NW/N, then take exit 3 but instead of turning left, you are already on Fairlawn so take a right and follow the map. Follow Blue then Yellow.

From Kansas City or anywhere else east: Take 1-70 westbound and once you reach Topeka take exit 355 and then onto I-470. Continue until you reach exit 3, take that, turn left and you will be on 29th street. You will come up to the intersection of 29th and Fairlawn. Turn left on Fairlawn and follow the crude map I made. Turn right on Shunga, and choose the far parking which is marked in red. Follow Green then Yellow.



Rules and Guns: Eye Protection is MANDATORY for any age, No eye protection=NO PLAY! THIS IS FINAL!
No melee weapons, but barrel tapping will be allowed. If your acting like a jerk to other people you will be sat out for a few rounds, and if you intentionally hurt someone you will be kicked out. I will be banning guns on a testing basis. If you think your gun might be banned, HAVE A BACKUP! I do not think I will have any guns as lenders as my parents do not think I should have over 10-15 nerf guns.

Food: Option 1: Bring your own lunch. Option 2: Bring money to chip in for a group lunch there are many restaurants near by. BRING WATER! IT WILL PROBABLY BE SCHORCHING HOT! I will have water, but if you can bring some that would be great.

Can't wait to see you guys! Remember what we used as a flag last time I came up? We wont have to do that again, I made some proper flags with CPVC and some thrift store t-shirts.
Collective, are you coming from Wichita, or Manhattan? If Wichita, do you think we could ride together?

Ok I'll be there unless by some unknown force prevents me from comming. By the way I will need darts, I hate smithing and will want to buy some, like 100 preferably, Ace makes some and Homestarune makes some but I don't know if either will be selling. Anyway let me know on the darts otherwise I might be in some ammo trouble.

Oh yes for those of you who were at the Abbaton war that I attended, I've made a major upgrade to my Shotgun.

Hey I checked with my friends and I will actually be bringing two people.
Torndo whats the plan if the park is busy. Do you have a back up place; how far away is it.

I really don't have a backup plan... I know it dosnt sound good but 1. It is going to be about 98 degrees with heat index in the 100's. 2. We are using a piece of park that nobody uses. So yah, be prepared to die of heat stroke. I cant think of anything else. But if you have any questions, just ask.

The CPVC ones would be great, use more of that than PETG. I liked the white ones you had too. (They may be one in the same I don't know. Like I said I hate dart smithing.)

Bring what you have and I'll by like 50-100 total for the war.

@ Tornado: I'll bring my cooler again and a case of water. If anyone else gets water or pop they're welcome to toss it in there. The park has plenty of trees for shade, right? Are there any shelters?

@Ace: I might be interested in buying some stefans too. I'll PM ya.

@Homestarune: Awesome, I wanted to try that!

@And back to Tornado: Defend the Core is a gametype. Each team takes a turn on offense and defense. The offense tries to shoot darts into a coffee can, cardboard box, etc to score points. The defense tries to stop them by eliminating them. I assume it's unlimited respawn and when you're hit you just sit out for a 15 second count or something like that, right?
What did you use for your core, Homestarune?

[Homestarune]

I'll bring cores made out of a coffee can and one from a small cardboard box. Defend the Core will be played with a time limit. The idea is to get as many darts while on offense into the core before time runs out. Both teams have unlimited lives, and have to return to their respawn point for 15 seconds when hit. The core is placed near the defense's respawn point. After time runs out the teams switch roles.

For dart buyers, I'm bringing about 300 darts with colored tips that fit cpvc good.

Not quite Ace, in order to prevent the darts from ricocheting out, a piece of paper will be placed over the front of the box/can. Before the can can get unloaded on, you will first have to break the paper. This will force you to be a little more strategic in your attempts to fill the can. If that proves to be too difficult, I can place other materials in front of the can.

Oh and come prepared, my 1500 has recently undergone some major upgrades.

Geez, everyone is pulling the upgrade card on me. Haha.

Everyone at the war is invited to my house to swim if they want (after the war). It will be HOT at this war so a swim would feel nice.

Sorry about this guys but we will not be able to have a community lunch so bring a sack one. See you all tomorrow!
Oh, and try to bring some darts of your own because you never know if the other darts at the wart will fit your gun.
