Are they gonna have anything cool this year? They'd better live up to the F22. That was pretty badass to see flying over my house. The main attraction isn't seriously some lame ass Airbus, is it? 'Cause I don't feel like listening to that for a week.

Hardly a "lame ass airbus." It's the largest airliner in the world.
They also have a couple of electric planes this year, and White Knight 2 (the whole commercial space travel thing) flew in the other day.
Also, about the Wal*Mart thing, I have no idea what you're talking about... The only people I've talked to that have been there have gone to get fans for the stupid dorm rooms that don't have A/C.

I forgot to say this before, but I can't imagine the flight you made. That's gotta be pretty draining.

Yeah, actually this year doesn't seem as bad as years past in general. They've made improvements to the campgrounds, so I think less people are feeling a need to spend the day driving around town. Those dorms must suck though.

Yeah, I also noticed that less people actually came this year. The last time I came, four years ago, there were ~15,000 planes. This year, there were only ~10,000. I think the economy is playing a part in this, since less people can afford to fly now.
Yeah, it was pretty draining. We were only able to make about 1.7 hour legs, before we needed to stop for fuel. I have absolutely no idea how many times we ended up stopping for fuel, but our actual flight time showed 22.2 hours, when we added it all up.

I'm leaving for Oshkosh tomorrow morning, I'll be camping the whole time, which I like.
What are you flying in? I came in a Great Lakes biplane.

It's still just going to look like a lame ass Airbus. Unless it's flying dangerously low, it will be very hard to tell from something like a 737.

Damn it Foamfoot. Why is it that you kill every good topic with a retarded response a few days late.

On the surface it does sound lame, however, I was there and that thing was HUGE, not only that but it also moved better than many aircraft half its size. And yes it did fly dangerously low. Not to mention the C-17, C-5, AWACK, A-10 Warthog, and a firefighter sky crane. Those were just a few of the things that were there.
The reason that the Airbus got so much attention was due to the fact the people showcasing it had a lot more money to blow on this event than other people did, and that the U.S. Government cared to spend.
In short, was totally worth the nights spent in a tent sharing an air-mattress, and weathering the thunderstorms last night. Had a lot of fun. Hope to go next year
