I'm still pumped from this last weekend's war, so I've decided to host another one. If I can get more than 3 people on the field, I'm up for nerfing.

Date: Sunday, August 9th
Time: 11am until we get tired or bored.
Location: UoM Civil Engineering Building
Address: 500 Pillsbury Dr SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455
Food: Lots and lots of options withing walking distance

Rules for outdoors:
-Blasters which I deem unsafe will be banned. If you aren't willing to take a shot from it from 50ft away, don't use it.
-No realistic looking guns.
-Eye protection is mandatory. I will throw a shit fit if you don't wear any.
-You have to have a dart loaded to barrel tap. This rule gets ignored a lot in our wars, and I think that detracts from the spirit of it.
-Melee weapons are allowed, and follow the regular barrel tap rule.
-Mantas and Crossfire shields are allowed.

Rules for indoors:
-Only stock darts or Slug darts are allowed.
-No high-powered blasters, unless you shotgun them.
-You have to have a dart loaded to barrel tap. This rule gets ignored a lot in our wars, and I think that detracts from the spirit of it.
-Melee weapons are allowed.
-Mantas and Crossfire shields are allowed.
-Eye protection is NOT mandatory.

Rounds:
Whatever you guys want; we will choose by consensus, or by proclamation from me.

Specifics may be changed if enough people want me to.

I'm also curious of what you guys think of an indoor/outdoor war on the 9th (Sunday). Parking would be free next to the Civil Engineering building, and I am curious to try a proper outdoor war around the civil engineering building.

Unfortunately I can't attend, because I'll be eating lobster and crab and whale and shit all the way from Boston up to Nova Scotia.

Leaving on friday for two weeks, fyi.

I'm in. Playing in/around the Civil Engineering building sounds great. I think it would be best to keep everything on the same day though. People seem to lose all of their energy, and it's more convenient.

Strangely enough I am also leaving for the northeast coast for the next two weeks. I don't normally enjoy going on family vacations, but after this one I'll have visited all of the lower 48 states, so it'll be worth it.

If you two could for sure make it on Saturday, I think we should have the war then. But, don't have the host change the date only to have you not show anyway. *Cough*MNSBW*Cough*.

I would only be able to make it to this on Sunday, and then only possibly, as I'm not getting back from Maine until Saturday afternoon.

I am yet another maybe.

And a quick question: Why would we only be allowed to use stock darts if we played indoors?

Because if you really want to take a shot from a high powered nitefinder at about 3 feet with stefans you can, but its just a bad idea.

Plus, running around with stock automatics and mavericks is really really fun. There are no pot shots, so the added accuracy isn't a factor for indoor wars. Its more of a "Ha, my gun shoots 20 darts really fast" and that dominates.

More people would make it cooler, but I would check with a superior before we have 10 people show up at the U of M campus with Nerf guns.

Oh, and I can now make it. I am leaving for MTU on the 11th, so I am game for both dates

It would be an awfully douchbag move to shoot anyone with anything from 3 feet away. I have no problem with stock automatics, used one for most of the last war.
For me it is more an issue of not owning stock darts and not really wanting to spend money on something I would really only be using this once.

Mother F, Iím in Michigan that weekend! I think all my guns are shotgunned so an indoor would be sweet, and U Campus is actually close to friggin Mound.

I like how Campus keeps popping up as an option, the buildings are hella money for nerf wars.

The Difference:
-Guns shoot bullets that kill people
-Blasters shoot darts that tag people

I do not play with guns.

The PAIN
Also, I'm concerned about damaging stuff, which I have done with hard-tipped stefans.

I would check with a superior before we have 10 people show up at the U of M campus with Nerf guns.

They don't give a shit as long as we do it on weekends and don't break things. Besides, there's a nice backup location about a block away.

Well, it should be awesome. I am in, assuming my sore muscles in my legs heal. Other wise I will camp.

I can attest to the damage stefans can do indoors. I accidentally broke a window with my longshot once (don't ask me how).

Yeah, they are pretty brutal. I put a small hole in my wood paneling in my Basement with a Big Blast.

I just picked up 5 Master Blasters and a Balzooka - anyone interested in having a ballgun round?

Christ beaver. I call Ballzooka. Actually, I have a master blaster and motorized ballzooka already. As well as my Marshmallow gun that shoots balls like 50 feet (it's a damn powerful gun). Sounds good though. I have a lot of practice golf balls, which work in stock nerf barrels, and the homemade ball barrels I make (1 1/4" PVC coupler with a reducer in one end to connect to the gun's coupler).

I think that we should decide on a time and place as soon as possible and those that are unsure should become 'attending' or 'not attending'.

my vote goes to Sunday.
