I'm sorry, I felt stupid after I asked if it would be possible to relocate the priming mechanism so I could have a side loading Recon...
However what you're asking for is just that. A recon. A Raider with a bottom loading clip is a Recon.

As for making the mag go in the bottom... What's stopping you from just rotating the grips, not the internals?
edit: And the drum mag, could'nt you turn the clip part to the center? could it still feed if you did?

I've only had one jam with my raider.
It was only cause i was trying to fire stefans, being a dick and such.
FYI: There is a gap in the rotating part of the mag that will make things difficult for stefan-compatibilty mods.
I'll explain more when AJ puts more mag pics up. (I have no camera, so i can't do it)
