Hello, Just finished up my crossfire ar removal and penny mod, and i am in love, i've minimized it and some craaaaaaazy things
But i really want to make it quieter (I Nerf in the dark, and focus on stealth)
I've searched since um... 10:23PM today, so well, about an hour.
Any ideas? Anyone?

Edit: I picked up a new crossfire and a disposable camera flash so i'm going to make my crossfire into a firefly pistol, ill make a writeup.

Attempting to reproduce with a Tactical rail will not result in children, but you may not hate it as much!

Add some FBR at the end of the plunger head. It will remove dead space, improve preformance, and shut it up. Oh and make sure you lube it.

Just shove fbr into all the dead space in the gun.

You don't put a slash in the middle of Ninja, unless you want a Ninja to put the former guitarist of Guns and Roses through your chest, while he is playing Sweet Child of Mine.

It isn't really possible to silence a nerf gun enough so your opponent won't hear you. However, as a general rule you want to make your guns as loud as possible to scare the shit out of people, and it also gives you a bigger e-penis

If you do not have extensive amounts of electronics experience, do not attempt to add a flash to your crossfire. The capacitors in a camera, disposable or not, supposedly can build up enough voltage to kill you.

Voltage....yes....Amperage I don't know.....but I don't think so.......

On Topic:

You could wrap a blanket around your gun..............but that would look silly, otherwise it's impossible to silence your gun.........

The crossfires are already VERY quiet, but I mad a silencer for mine that helped considerably. You'll need to have done a barrel mod on it first. But take the top of a plastic bottle, cut off the whole cap area. Then cut the top of the cap itself off. This will be your threads for the your silencer. Then take the orange barrel from a longshot (that's what I used) or tubing of similar size, drill tones of holes all the down it on all sides everywhere and glue it to your cap. Then wrap it in an old sock or shirt very tightly a few times, you don't want it to be too big. Then wrap it in some card stock paper to give it a solid shape. Wrap it again with a few layers of duct tape and you're done. Thread that on the end of your gun.

For me it makes a noticeable difference on any gun, but not enough to call it silent except for the crossfire. With it on my crossfire, it makes virtually no noise at all.

Thanks for your care, but i do have alot of electrical experience, and i have worked with camera flashes in many school and home projects

voltage to kill you.

There's an old saying, "Volts hurt, amps kill.". I've been shocked by ALOT of stuff, and camera flashes were nothing more than a little pinch. These cameras don't actually have many amps, but you can hurt your self. Unless you have heart problems, you'll be fine, just make sure to discharge the capacitor before you touch anything.

Thanks for correcting me. I'm not too keen on what are in the flashes of disposable cameras.

So let me get this straight... You want a totally silent stealth blaster that flashes when fired. You'll find supplies for that right next to the waterproof towels and perforated condoms.

Anyways, if you want to get the blaster silent in a hurry, wrapping a pillow around it isn't a bad idea. Stuffing the voids with foam works to a degree, but I've never found it to be worth the trouble.

Your real best bet is adhering a large, soft disk onto the inside end of the plunger chamber, the sealed tube that the plunger slides around in. Most of the noise generated by a spring blaster is caused when the plunger head impacts the end of the chamber, and a soft cushion will prevent the noise. The best material for the disk is sponge rubber, since it holds its shape, but a few layers of neoprene or even dart foam will work. A side bonus is that this can extend your plunger's life. You can find this mod in most advanced X-bow, Doomsayer, NiteFinder, etc threads.

Thats why you put it together while its been discharged. Was watching a TV show last night where they used a disposable camera as a stun gun. So yes there is some power there to knock you out. But not really enough to kill you.

Along with the rest, make sure your spring is as long as the plunger rod. Don't want a spring rattling to ruin your "stealth".

Though they dont seem to work too well

It doesnt have enough voltage to knock you out, I made a tazor with the same 1200uf capacitors and got nothing but a dog collar shock
however i always discharge it first, i got a tool for that after i died stabbing a wall socket with a butter knife when i was 5;
Shame i dont remember dying though, Then i'd know which religion is true;
Or if its all bullshit like I think it is

Cameras don't have enough voltage to knock you out. They just burn you where it touches I know from experience.

He means his heart stopped but they revived him. Or that he is a zombie, which would add a whole new level to HvZ.
