I've read that you can't open the breech cover while there's a belt in the gun. Is there any way you can open it without having to go through the belt?

If you pull really really hard it opens.....not recommended, but I did it multiple times, and still closes fine.
When the shit hits the fan, you'd better wear a rain coat.....

Just fuckin' force the thing open. If you're not a goober, you should be able to pry it open. It's just a piece of plastic and a spring. Think of it like the LSFG's locking pin.

Push the button down on the back of the gun part its orange and then glue it.

i didnt glue it but instead i put some small pieces of cardboard from the box and put a piece of etape over it then removed the piece the sticks out
However, as a general rule you want to make your guns as loud as possible to scare the shit out of people, and it also gives you a bigger e-penis.
