So my mother lives in Singapore and when I found out that the CTF sets were in Singapore, I texted her asking if she could send a set over, she however proceeded to send two.

According to the box, they are called "stormfire" blasters.

When i first opened it, i was like, WHA?!

Posted Image

Then i realized, my mom probably stuffed in some packaging peanuts.

The green darts look terrific, not that they'll find very much use for me.

The blaster:

I didn't have a good set of screw drivers but decided to open her up anyways with a multitool. It was difficult, and i stripped 3 screws, but here she is. (I think i'll go pick up some new screw drivers before attempting to mod one...)

I don't have an NF on me, but it seems that the plunger is about the same size with a plunger head of the same style. One detail that may be a bit frustrating when modding is that the barrel is glued on. The handle is by far the most comfortable nerf handle i've held. (Makes me want to put it on my +bow some how...)

Hope you guys enjoyed this preview.

This gun seem very similar to the switchshot. The barrel is glued on and the internals are essential the same.

The yellow balls are also slightly smaller in diameter than the green ones.

You should attach a breech to the slide, and make it accept longshot clips! Do that and something along the lines of the 2x nitefinder and you have a great primary!

Seems to be a trend of the new blasters (Raider, now this). More comfortable, larger handles. Looks good to me.

Hey...I got a crazy idea: how about you stop all that sigging stuff? It's not even my thread and it annoys me.

Cool, I thought it would be a comfortable grip. What's the ranges for those things? They're available here in aus too, and I'm thinking of buying. They came out the same time the raider did.

I am digging that priming sled. No more plunger rod sticking out the back when it's primed.

Yes, I love the priming handle too.
And excellent, a bit of dead space in the front of the gun for integrations...

Yeah it's because we are closer to singapore, i think we might be a test sample before the US release.

I second that emotion.

It looks to me that it may have a smaller priming stroke than the NF, due to the cocking handle restricting space. If this is the case, I'll be keyringing and plunger-draw-extending mine.

Handle on the +bow? Get me one when you are back in the cities, and I can work something out for it.

Wow, honestly, those look better then a nitefinder. The plunger rod looks like it has less mass, so that would mean slightly better ranges.

Actually, thats a load of bull. It probably shoots the same as a Nitefinder, just cocked easier. I like it. Who cares that it isn't a pump gun?

OH! well thank you for posting that. Gives me a bit of what to expect. Would still like to see the innards however.

On another note:
I wholeheartedly agree with Carbon.
personally i would be utterly thrilled if nightfinders came packaged with a little pink flamingo.

These look like they have some decent potential. They also look very comfy.

They don't look like they are worth owning though. I'm guessing it's about the size of a maverick lengthwise. If you want ROF, you could just use a maverick. If you want range, you could use a nitefinder, which is also smaller than this from the looks of it.

That is all assumption until we know stock ranges and if it is possible to mod it a good bit.

I'm new to nerf but feel like I'm good at modding and at playing.

Currently modding every gun I can get my hands on.

Working on my own mod. I can't wait to finish and get the write-up...well written up. =)
