I just completed my CPVC Doomsayer but when some of the barrels fire the dart does not leave the barrel, stopping around 2 inches from the end (I'm using 6 inch barrels), I'm thinking this is a seal problem. Do Doomsayers require a looser barrel fit? Could this be solved by switching the barrels to PVC?

The barrels are probably a little too long.

It means that you are not using a short enough barrel, possibly because of dart fit, seal problems, etc.

I think my darts are fine, I'll start looking for my camera to get a pic up though.

The barrels are probably a little too long.

Alright thanks, how long would you recommend?
please dont sig that

It sounds like a seal problem, and also, your darts are probably way to tight in CPVC. One of its bad qualities is that is it really tight on most darts

I don't think the barrels are too long, because I'm pretty sure I've seen Doomsayers with longer cpvc barrels. What type and size of foam do you use?

CPVC works pretty well on most of my guns, I'll try chopping down the barrels a bit though. Would you recommend switching to 1/2 PVC and beefing up the seal?

Don't use pvc! And yes, you should improve the seal. What springs and darts are you using?

To be honest... CPVC sucks unless you use stock darts. PETG has been done with great results. Better seal = Better ranges, Also i'm not sigging you ;)

I'm using an LS and stock spring combo and my darts are made from 1.5 inches of a foam that's allot like Ace foam.

You need more springs. What is the diameter of the foam?

I highly doubt i need more springs, when the gun does fire I'm hitting 100+ feet, My foam is 1/2, that's all i know.

Does the hot glue or washers stick off the edge of the darts? Pics of darts would help.

I still think that it's the springs. Did you use a new LS spring, or an old one?(black or silver)
Also, shorter Stefans would have less friction on the barrels, causing them to leave the barrels more easily.

Then I don't know what's wrong. Try cutting the barrels back to where the darts stop.

Most likely seals, does the plunger head move very slowly if you put you hand over the end of the barrel(no darts) and fire? If not you have a seal problem with the turret or plunger tube. The turret seal problem could be because it isn't rotating all the way because the dart holes are catching on the O-ring or washer.

Alright, I think Its seal Ive got a near 100% plunger head seal so it must be turret.

What have you done to improve turret seal?

How have you reinforced the rotating mech? It sounds like the turret and plunger aren't aligning perfectly every time. But when they do align, good things happen, like you said.

I pretty much did everything that angel did for the rotation mech, as for the turret seal i couldn't get the hotglue thing to work so the seal remains stock.

Then it's certainly the seal. The seal would explain why sometime you get great shots and sometimes you do not. The turret seal is very important, as you can tell, so definitely improve that.

It's not your barrels, 6" is already short, shortening won't help you. Making them a little longer might, especially if you improve the turret seal because more air will be getting to the barrels, so they could be longer.
