I was rebarreling a AT2K, and I've put in 4 Crayola barrels. However, I saw in one of the mod posts that it's possible to fit 4 1/2" PVC barrels on, and since I use stock taggers in wars, I thought this would be a good idea. In practice, I found out that 4 1/2" PVC barrels just plain don't fit on the turret.
Is there a strange, mystical way of putting them on? Or do I just live with two PVC barrels and 2 crayola barrels?

Reason for PVC is that range with them held on top (not glued) is about 30' more.

You may be thinking CPVC, not PVC. Big difference in size.

No, it's PVC. I remember the thread saying he used mega's, and those don't fit in CPVC. Is there a way to fire stock taggers and keep the turret? I don't really want to single my gun.

Stock foam works great in CPVC. Just because he said he used PVC doesn't mean you have to - use a barrel material that works for your darts. In this case, that would be 17/32" Brass, or CPVC. Maybe heavy wall PETG. CPVC will be a lot easier for you to work with. The only way I can explain him being able to fit 1/2" PVC on the turret would be a lot of dremel work.

use 1/2" CPVC or petg
edit: could you add a link to this mod you speak of?

Use CPVC to fit into the turret bases and then hammer PVC into that.

The mod (it's in the directory)
http://nerfhaven.com...showtopic=11765

@flamingeyes###: I'm using stock darts, and they fishtail like crazy without longer barrels.

@TantumBull: Problem isn't getting them connected individually, its that 4 1/2" PVC barrels don't fit next to each other on the turret.

@Darth_Tom: They fishtail, and don't go very far.

Unless someone in this thread comes up with a solution, I'll be using 2 1/2" pvc barrels:

. (P)
. © ©
. (P)

P is PVC, C is Crayola.
Is this a workable compromise? or is it better to have a singled AT2K?

Looking at that mod there's no way to actually pull off what he's showing in that picture. I'm close to positive the PVC will not fit on all four barrels. You'd probably have to sand the shit out of the PVC. If you're going to use stock darts, you're better off singling it.

Only solution I can think of is sanding the PVC on the sides where it would touch the other pieces. Or try a tubing with thinner walls that has a smaller OD than 1/2" PVC. Look around on mcmaster. Brass is also an option. Maybe 21/32"?

The easiest way to end all of your problems is to get with the program and make some Stefans. You're already on a Nerf forum, just accept that you're going to get to that point anyway, and make some sooner rather than later. Since they'll be properly weighted, they won't fishtail as much.

You can always start with CDTS. Just search for "CDTS" and you'll probably find all the information you need to know.

Wait, just checked out your post again.. 2 1/2" barrels? That's why they fishtail. Too much power behind it. The problem is, either they won't fit in a proper 6" barrel because they're Taggers or Sonics, or they're naturally flighty because they're Streamlines.

Go for some CDTS. You won't regret it. You can get to the Stefans later.

The people I nerf with do not use stefans, therefore, in order to be able to pick up darts and effectively use them, I must barrel for stock darts. Simple?

Also, it's 2 (0.5"PVC) Barrels. But the Crayola doesn't fit the dart any farther in, so its a moot point.

I understand what the mod is saying. Glue equal amounts of tubing in the back of each piece of PVC, then glue those into the turret holes. You can then just glue the barrels into a square formation, and as long as you kept the tubing short enough, glue the square formation onto the turret more securely.

Is the tubing bent or something? Because I just can't fit four pieces of 0.5" PVC on the turret.

You probably didn't put enough glue on the tubing.
By the way only the rubber tip doesn't fit in cpvc and that doesn't matter.
i could post a pic, but that just seemed ridiculous.
edit: it says to use 7" and to PRY the barrels out not to cut them. That might be the problem.

Glue..? Tubing..? First post says I'm using crayolas.

Also, it does in fact matter if the rubber tip sticks out - the problem I'm trying to solve with the 1/2" PVC is the short barrel length. Also, if the dart-barrel fit is any tighter, my darts will shred (I tested, and have dead darts to prove it)

the rubber tip is supposed to stick out, they're taggers.
And many of my darts have ripped as well, but yours probably ripped because the rubber tip caught on the inside of the pvc. Also, I have a cpvc'ed at2k, and stock darts don't shred in it, so what you're saying is B.S.

They only rip without the 1/2" PVC.

Also, regardless of whether or not they rip on CPVC, they rip on crayolas, and I'd like to decently solve that problem.

Did you pry the stock barrels out, or cut them?
edit:Also, fuck crayolas, buy some cpvc!

Your barrels are maybe... 5 inches longer than mine? Therefore the air has a chance to slow down a bit. And besides, if I'm going to use CPVC, I may as well get all my friends to switch to stefans and keep my PETG, since its better for airguns. Since this is not possible, swapping to CPVC doesn't help me.

By the way, nice paintjob.

The barrels are only 6", but thanks for the comment on the pj! Now i can see that you nested the crayolas in the pvc. and by the way, i get great ranges with stock darts in my at2k.

Just so you know, I could give a gun that pj for around $10! Just ask!
