Hi guys, I have just gotten my hands on a stormfire blaster that came in a set of 2 with the electronics flag.
Here are the pictures of the internals of the stormfire.

The stormfire internal pictures

Posted Image

Overall view of the blaster

Posted Image

Front part of the blaster

Posted Image

Trigger mechanism looks similar to the nitefinder

Posted Image

Plunger tude can be ar removed and be rebarrel with cpvc, petg or brass pipes

Posted Image

The spring as well as the oring part is shown in this picture it is similar to the nite finder. Can add one more oring as well as swap for a better spring

Posted Image

The back trigger cum priming handle of the storm fire looks similar to the priming handle of the nitefinder

Posted Image

You will need to remove this screw and detach the front part of the barrel before you can open the internals

Overall this functions like a nitefinder and the internals looks like one except the cocking mechanism area. Other than that it seems easy to mod this blaster and the ranges expected from this blaster should be in the ranges that a modded nitefinder offer.

Yes! No reverse plunger. Hope for the furyfire, guys?

I can't wait to get my hands on one of these babies. I was predicting another scout/crossfire. I'm glad I was proven wrong. I'm really looking forward to the release here in the states.

EDIT-Wait, I just realized that you're not the guy from singapore who posted in the awareness thread. Where are you located?

And Soothsayer, it looks holsterable, if you cut off the amo holders below the front of the blaster.

Hey...I got a crazy idea: how about you stop all that sigging stuff? It's not even my thread and it annoys me.

Seems like it'll be a choice of preference really. It's so damn big that it seems all the work making it a war practical side arm(small enough not to be a pain) seems like a waste of time (and probably money) rather than just buying a nitefinder or crossfire.

Maybe if they ranges are nice, integrating a AT2k/3k tank on the bottom would make it a slick looking primary.

yeah I'm that guy who made that cool thing with the cool paint.

Do you have any plans for modification?

You could also post this in the internals directory, which is stickied in this thread.

This guns seems like it has potential.

Can't wait to get a hold of one of those babies.

Well rejoice, I just got the capture the flag set in Singapore. One of the department stores over here has just started selling it at sgd $74.90. (Marked up prices in my view) And this capture the flag set was just up in the shelve 2 days ago. Side talk a bit, they are also sell the flip clip with 30 darts at sgd $39.90

white moonlight:Well, it seems like it can be added an extra o ring to make it vacuum load. The barrels can be replaced with cpvc, petg or brass. And the spring can be replace or to add another spring to make it give more range and 'Bite'.

Soothsayer: I like your idea of adding an a2k or a3k to the darts holders, But unfortunely, over here at Singapore hasbro does not sell a2ks and a3ks. And importing blasters from US will cost me a bomb.

diamondbacknf1626: I believe that the guy from singapore who posted in the awareness thread is also a friend of mine. And he is also a moderator over here in our Singapore nerf forums. He like to keep his blasters stock thus he does not open and show you guys the internals of it where as I am a modder before a nerfer so I just open it and for the benefit of the NIC, just take photos and post it up.

This thing looks promising. I'm really glad it doesn't have a reverse plunger. Hopefully the furyfire will be the same.

The yellow balls are also slightly smaller in diameter than the green ones.

Yay!
Finally nerf listens and doesn't use a reverse plunger!
Does it prime like a lnl?
Looks like the bar could be replaced with a keyring.

All that space towards the front underneath the plunger and the barrel looks ideal for integrations. With some heavy modifications to the plunger system as well as an integration, this looks quite worthy of a "Secondary" gun if you ask me. (Or primary depending on your play-style)

Also, i like the handle alot. Looks big and comfy. Any chance of a video?

While the gun itself doesn't really float my boat, I can see someone doing some major "overhaul" minimization to make this thing quite a bit smaller. Remove the cocking slide, relocate the handle a little bit forward, cut down the front and throw on a new trigger and you'd have a pretty cool little sidearm, even if it amounts to little more than a slightly oversized NF.

I really dislike the Nite Finder as a sidearm, when it's primed the handle sticks up, and easily catches on things. Also, because of it's inherently square shape, you need more of a box to holster it, than a traditional holster. Minimizing this to cut off the ammo holders and the front half of the pseudo-barrel will allow it to slide into traditional holsters much easier than the Nite Finder.

When the Stormfire is primed, it looks as though the priming bar is still held in the shell of the gun, which is a big plus in my eyes.\\

Edit: Had to fix a brainfart sentence.

Meh, just looks like NF internals. It isn't really a bad thing, but I was hoping for something more.

Ryan- Could you weigh the balls for extra oomph? Maybe cut one ball open (like a slit) and spread it so you could get some weights in there?

The plunger tube/spring are identical to a switchshot's. It's a switchshot in a larger shell with a cocking slide and extra ammo holders, with some retarded electronic flag thing added just so they can jack up the price. No thanks, I stick with my switchshots.

Thanks for posting internals, Zinv.
