Alright, this is my new eliminator.

Materials/tools needed:

Eliminator.
2 1/2" of 17/32 brass.
Pipecutter.
Dremel.
E-tape.
Drill.
Different sized drill bits.
Phillips head screwdriver.
Pen spring.
Crossfire spring.
15/16" I.D. 1" O.D. Pipe.
1/2 CPVC coupler.
Hot glue sticks.
Hot glue gun.
Hacksaw.

First off here is the final product.

Posted Image

Start with the stock gun.

Posted Image

Open it up, and you see the internals.

Posted Image

Here is the trigger assembly, (with pen spring).

Posted Image

Here is the plunger assembly.

Posted Image

Step 1: Take a small drill bit, and drill out the peg through the back of the plunger tube.

Step 2: Take a much larger drill bit and drill out the rest through the bigger hole in the plunger tube.

Step 3: Punch out the rest, (if there is any) with a screwdriver.

Step 4: Hammer in the 2 1/2" peice of 17/32 brass.

This is what it should look like.

Posted Image

Step 5: Take your 15/16" I.D. 1" O.D. Pipe and cut it down to 4".

Step 6: EDIT: Cut off the back of the slider bar, which unfortunately leaves only one screw hole.

Step 7: Take your CPVC coupler and FILL it with hot glue.

Posted Image

Step 8: Hot glue the coupler into your 15/16" I.D. 1" O.D. Pipe.

Posted Image

EDIT: Step 9 1/2: Wrap E-tape around the plunger tube, similar to what you would do to a recon.

Step 9: Place your crossfire spring in the 15/16" I.D. 1" O.D. Pipe.

Step 10: Replace catch spring with pen spring.

Step 11: Screw it together.

Step 12: Secure your 15/16" I.D. 1" O.D. Pipe to the back of the eliminator SHELL with Hot Glue, Epoxy, or Mighty Putty.

Step 13: Attach the slider bar.

Then you are done.

The ranges are,

With a stock dart fired 4 times:
58’
58’
58’
66’

Average range: 60ft.

With a stefan fired 4 times.
51’
51’
59’
59’

Average range: 55ft.

I know it seems like a spike in range, but all shots WERE taken flat.

Not quite sure why stefans had a shorter range...

The ranges were taken with a level.

and a tape measure.

It's a level attatched to a crossfire tactical adaptor.

More of a novelty if anything, not really for use in a war.

You want flat ranges, here you go.

I don't have a comparison picture, but I took this from Assasin NF's mod.

The picture is of the stock gun.

How much longer is this gun then a primed eliminator? That should give me a good idea of it’s size.

Considering you have a 4 inch stock on the back.

The eliminator slider bar about half way covers the stock.

So it is about 2 inches farther than a primed eliminator.

I'm very impressed with what that's hitting. A bit bulky, but excellent job nonetheless.

Thanks!

I was surprised too.

It really isn't THAT bulky though.

Elimi-con! I think this is a great idea: I double-springed one of mine and it added almost nothing because the friction of all the springs jammed in there.

One suggestion: I love the slide-cocking action but I found it to be difficult with stronger springs: if you drill a hole down the center of the extension you could screw a simple ceiling hook into the little hole in the reverse plunger tube.

I did this to accommodate hefty springs which you can definitely do with your mod. Nice work, innovative.

I do not play with guns.

Cool

BACK ON TOPIC: I can't do that because of the stock on the back.

Cut a groove in the stock and make the charge rod protrude from the groove, just like Carbon's snap-rifles utilize.

Doing this as I speak. I have no idea when I got it...my DAD got it some 15 years ago, but that doesn't matter. Anyways, it keeps jerking around all over the place. I try to hold it with a rag...It doesn't look like...much.

Good idea.

The only problem is I really don't mind the slider bar.

What is the size of the CPVC Coupler and what is the adhesive you used to keep the Extension glued to the eliminator shell?

I used a 1/2 CPVC coupler.

I only used hot glue, but you could use something more solid such as Mighty Putty or Epoxy.

No disrespect to the dearly departed Billy Mays, but Mighty Putty is not adhesive enough for most things Nerf. It is hard enough, but I've had to reglue too many parts back onto the original models to recommend it by itself.

Back to the mod - very clean, very nice. Also, very much in keeping with my reading of the contest rules - something that looks stock, is replicable by a neophyte, and is functional. Great going!

Thanks a lot!

Like I said, (I think) I used hot glue so I didn't know how Mighty Putty would work.

I have used it in the past and have seen it is a very strong substance.

Thanks guys, keep the feedback coming!

Sorry i didn't say this before but great stuff here. I come by the forum pretty often and look around and I have to say this is proof of how an extra spring on a reverse plunger does work... unlike some *cough*Recon*cough*

Though forgive me, what relivance does teh coupler have inside the extension tube and without the abrivations what is the Extension tube's material name?

First of all I used the CPVC coupler as kind of an endcap, (which you could use if you find the correct one),
to stop the spring.

Second of all the pipe is some sort of thinwalled PVC, but you could use pretty much any other pipe
with those measurements. You would just have to use a different type of adhesive depending on the
pipes material.

Alright, sorry for the double post but, I just realized that the hole in the back of the slider bar just wasn't
cutting is so I had to completely cut off the back.

The only down fall of this part is the fact that it only leaves you one screw post, (I'm gonna try and figure out
that problem later.)

I also added E-tape on the plunger tube, behind the spring, similar to what is done to the recon, to increase
power.

I don't know how much the power was increased seeing as it is pitch black outside and have absolutely no way
of doing a range test, (I will hopefully update this tommorrow).

Thanks for all the great feedback keep it coming!
