Heya guys, I was doing a repaint of one of my blasters, replacing the stickers with actual paint and I found myself needing to do a gradient, but I don't have a clue how to do one. Could anyone give me some tips?

Here's an example of what I'm trying to do (made it in GIMP)

The only way I can see this work is with either airbrush or a spray can.

Start spraying close tot the material (in your example, on the black side) and back away as you go along the gradient line (in the direction of the yellow bit, in your example).

Airbrush is the best way to go I think.

Ow and practice on some cardboard orso first offcourse :D

i'd put down a base coat of yellow first, then work on the black.

Lay down a coat of yellow, and do a fade.

When I say fade I mean make the black more conscentrated at one end and get less and less concentrated
as you move on along the gun.

Is it really that yellow? It looks like kind of a barf orange on my monitor.

Anyway, I know the light color is supposed to be the base, but how exactly do I get the proper gradient? I should I like hold the spray can at an angle or something? It'll be up in the mods/paint directory when its done, I just want to get it right the first time so it doesn't look like crap when it's finished.

The only way to get a smooth gradient is to use an air brush. A spray can does not fully atomize the paint so it will just look blotchy.
