Ah, that always gets me up in the morning!
As for the game addiction, if it's on things like the wii or whatnot, take the power cables, give them to your parents, and tell them not to give them back to you for a month.
If it's for online games, disable the internet and mod a few guns.

Instead of getting good at a game, get good at biking or running or dancing or kite flying.
Or better yet.....MODDING!! What this site is all about!! The sense of accomplishment I get from completing a mod is alot more than beating some video game.
