So, I found this tri-colored LED at Radioshack, and thought “I HAVE to put this in a Nerf gun...”

One thing lead to another, and I ended up putting it, a constant-sound siren, and a constant-sound buzzer in a Nitefinder.

Everything is controlled by a 9-volt in the original battery slot. I rigged it so you can replace the battery via the original slot, without having to open the entire shell. The battery cover still fits on as well.

Other mods are pretty standard, double springed, reinforced, and ½” coupled CPVC barrel.

The siren is wired both to a momentary switch, allowing Morse code, if anyone actually knows Morse code anymore, and the large switch on top for a constant squeal.

On the other side, the buzzer is wired to the switch closest to the trigger, and the LEDs individual colors to the three switches at the front, allowing you to control each color.

Ranges are pretty standard at around 60-70 feet.

I dont think a full write-up is really necessary, for a number of reasons, including if you actually WANT to do this, it's pretty easy to figure out just by looking at it. :P

It sounds like a really annoying signal to your opponents. I do love the pokemon bed sheets though.

Well if you try to use that in a war, I'm not sure how long it will last until someone gets pissed off at the noise and throws it at the ground. But it looks clean and if you like it then that's all that matters. Nice job.

You don't put a slash in the middle of Ninja, unless you want a Ninja to put the former guitarist of Guns and Roses through your chest, while he is playing Sweet Child of Mine.

You took the art of silencing a gun and completely reversed it.

It's kind of like a, "your enemy is trying to shoot you siren, get away!"

You might want to put up a wiring diagram. I might actually do this, and I don't want to try to rig this up based on that first pic (what a CF, by the way), and my newbish electrical skills.

Yep. Thanks to everyone confirming this as an insanely stupid but neat mod :P
... and that people still like my Pokemon quilt.

though, it's quicker to google using the spelling Morse.

Back on the blaster, though - it looks like fun. You might consider replacing that huge toggle switch on top with something a little more low-profile, such as the small slide switches used in the Firefly and most flywheel blasters. That way it might be less likely to break off if dropped.

See, I typed this in Word, and it didnt like the "Morse" spelling for some reason...
Anyway, I like my ridiculously sized switches, needless though they may be. Little bit of epoxy and it aint going anywhere :)
Have you seen the switch on Sasha?

Well, my technical drawing skills are lacking, but...

It's cool when people do mods that are silly and off-the-wall. The name "First-Alert" makes me think of the old lady who has fallen and can't get up.
