Hey guys, so today I went down to my localhobby shop and got all of the materials required to make a RSCB clip. As I was building the clip I thought of something, I'm using CPVC for the barrel, and I'm using streamlines and a couple stefans. Both of those dart types are a relatively tight fit in CPVC. My question is, how will I be able to get the darts from the holder part to the barrel if the dart to barrel fit is too tight? Before you ask, I did search, and came up with nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, the only barrel material I have is CPVC, and I can't get any other kind. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to order some other barrel material.

Test it and find out? put a dart in the Cpvc and see if it slides?

Sand out the CPVC. Just roll some sandpaper into a gradual cone, slide it in the CPVC, and twist the CPVC while applying pressure.

You're supposed to use a looser tube for the holder section, not the actual barrel material. I'm using a CPVC barrel with inlines and RSCBs, and I hammer the CPVC into a 1/2" PVC stub. That goes into a coupler to connect with the rest of the necessary tubing.

Carbon is right. The ammo storage part is a loose material so the darts can slide forward to the barrel. If you are using CPVC you can use 1/2 inch copper as the storage unit. Copper will accept in CPVC couplers and be roomy enough for your darts to slide.

Wait, so are you worried that the darts won't load into the actual barrel because its too tight, or that they won't even advance because the holder section is too tight?

You can't use your barrel material for the holder part.

I'm pretty sure he means that he's worried about the dart not falling from the holder into the barrel by itself.

Fuzz, they don't need to go all the way in. They just have to be in enough so that they plug the back of the barrel so the air takes it along as it leaves the barrel. I recommend doing what Qui'lan Fett suggests. I've done the same thing with a cpvc rscb and it works really well.

I completely agree. We have been making some great improvements on these barrels types lately and they should all be collected into one thread. Its a great way to increase your RoF.

Fuzz you don't have to worry too much about the fit of the dart with a RSCB, as long as it starts to load into the Fire Barrel (make it like a funnel and you won't have any problems) the air pressure will push the dart through (if your barrel isn't too long). I can push Log Home (fits snug in 9/16") through my 1/2" barrel on my inline clip.

By the by, if your linking the copper to CPVC Couplers, make sure the seal is airtight. Copper sometimes doesn't mesh perfectly with the CPVC couplers.

I found some aluminum rod in my basement that has an ID almost the same as copper, so I'll be using that

Ya, almost exactly the same.

What you found sounds like 5/8ths aluminum tube, I've used some of this for an inline clip and it preforms the same as 1/2" SCH 40 PVC.

I would load a small weight behind the darts in the rscb clip, in order to push the darts into the tighter barrel material, or place a long, weak spring, like one from a notebook, around the space where air exits the blaster, to push them into the CPVC.
