It's an awesomely large park with open fields and wooded areas for Nerfy goodness. It's in the heart of Oak Lawn, IL. We'll plan on meeting in the circled area. The area is by the playground and soccer fields. I'll gladly give my number to anyone who wants it to ensure an easy meetup.

Relevant Information: ChANO 1 & 2 were great, let's keep it up!

Here's what to bring:
- A few guns; at least one primary and at least one pistol.
- Ammo, and a fair amount of it. If you forget, I'll have darts available for SALE
- Eye protection. If you don't bring any, you can't play
- LUNCH AND DRINKS. If you don't want to pack a lunch, for $3 the lovely Kate will make you a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, water, and a bag of chips!
The only shields that will be permitted are Manta Rays and Crossfire Shields

Here's what you shouldn't bring:
- Absolutely no singled Titans. Plugged Titans must be shotgunned to at least three barrels - a minimum of three barrels attached to the airtank, with all barrels firing upon the trigger pull.
- No singled AND plugged 4Bs, LBBs, National Geographic Guns, or Signal Launchers. Plugged will imply shotgunned to at least three barrels.
- Special cases on the above banned guns will be considered on a case-by-case basis; if you feel you have something that is listed as banned but doesn't perform powerfully enough to warrant banning you may bring it, but please don't waste our time with a singled, plugged Titan where you shotgun-load a single barrel. I would ban SM5Ks but almost no one has one or uses one.
- Air-powered homemades (spring-powered ones are acceptable) will be considered on a case by case basis as well but the limitations on those will be stricter, since they're generally able to put out a lot more air than most of the big blasters.
- In the pistol rounds, the following will be banned: Nothing...if it upsets the balance or makes you think twice about whether its a pistol, it's not a pistol...
- Do NOT bring anything painted all black. That is bad and you won't be allowed to use it, except for PASs and RFDGs. Those come in that color and are therefore fine.

We'll play a bunch of different games throughout the day:
- Team Deathmatch (2 and 3 teams)
- CTF
- Free for All
- Defend the Core
- Wingman
- Escort VIP with and without Zombies
- Pistol Round
- Ridiculous Round!!!

Rule Updates:
- Crossfire Shields and Manta Rays may be used with any combination of weapons. The crossfire shield must be worn like a buckler shield on the lower part of the arm.
- Barrel Tapping is allowed however, your gun MUST be locked and loaded to tap, accompanied by saying, "Hit". I consider tapping a courtesy instead of shooting someone point blank with a powerful primary.
- If you're being a jerk you get to star in a StQ round later that day!

Since many of the usual suspects have been unable to make the war due to prior obligations, I am proposing a date change to July 11, 2009. This way, hopefully, more people will be able to attend. I'll have pics up later this week of the site.

Feel free to post in the thread or PM me with any questions/concerns.

@Finn- Take it easy on the camo, it's still a public park with a massive trail that can be crowded nearby.

I know I'm not coming to this war, since firstly I'm back at home and secondly Armageddon is that day, but seriously, this needs addressing. Do you even fucking remember the past two wars we've had? What makes you think that camouflage is even remotely a good idea? Would you really want to sit in the bushes and foliage, waiting for someone to get within range so you could shoot them without noticing? In all honesty, I'm calling Zorn the day of the war and if you show up in camo I'm pulling a Tropic Thunder and making him punch you in the face really fucking hard.

Snake? Good luck with this. It's too bad this war will be with 100% less I9.

Rawk. Put me back on the maybes! I will check my calendar and make sure there's no moving/world-saving/ebola that will get in the way this time. And anyone who enjoyed the Clone Trooper making an appearance last war will probably get a kick out of this war too if I can make it.

Beaver, if those Iron Raptors are still in your possession and you can make this war and we might have to make a deal.

And yes, I will have to get the kinks with the kill-cam worked out before this, for sure.




Addendums!

In the realm of barricades and what have you, I'm working on a design with the dart tag vests. More on that later, but if you still have yours lemme know and plan on bringing them to the war.

Additionally, I can use my titan if I'm shooting swords from it, right? No plugs, just ARs removed.

@I9 - Thanks, you will be missed at this war. It was a pleasure at ChANO 1 & 2. We'll have the chance to Nerf together again in the fall.

@LiterSize - I believe I have a set of them at home. Expect a PM when I check it all out.

To everyone, feel free to use whatever weapons you want as long as they are not dangerous and fun-killing. Going along with what Talio said in the latest podcast, it's to have fun. One of the more memorable experiences I've had was covering LiterSize while he was using the XXL Bazooka (which shoots titan sized missles).

Can we also get confirmation for Chicago wars about barrel tapping? I'm pretty sure I've been tapped to find out the person didn't have a dart in the barrel to begin with. It's occasions like that I'm ready to pull the sword in a non-titan fashion.

Concerning Barrel Tapping - Your gun must be locked and loaded and capeable of firing a dart. While tapping someone you must say "hit". I look at tapping as a nice way of not popping someone at close range with your PAS, +bow, etc. If any questions arise show the guy you tapped your loaded gun.

Shield rules are listed in the first post as well. If anything becomes abused/unbalanced/un-fun, I will make changes to balance the game. No "invincibility" will be tolerated this time around. If you feel as though you cannot feel getting hit, my PAS will make sure you know when you're hit.

Overall if you're being douchy you get to star in a StQ round later that day!

Rules are open to negotiation if anyone has any questions...

On-topic - Anyone looking for a pistol-splat, I've got an extra knock-offish one and will bring it NIB if you need one. To see what it looks like, I put a pic up in a recent entry on my blog (link in my sig). It's sturdy and handles well, fyi.
