Start with a Doubleshot.

Posted Image

Throw that shit in the garbage.

Posted Image

Now, start with THESE:

Posted Image

Ignore the modifications on the Nite Finder; you really only need a donor gun for its handle and trigger, and it was this Nite Finder's time to go.

Let's start straight into this shit, because it takes a LONG time. Keep in mind, if you're doing this modification to the finish you will have to do everything here TWICE, to both PASs.

Take a hacksaw the orange piece, like so:

Posted Image

You'll be left with this:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Pry off the o-ring, it fails to serve any purpose any more.

Posted Image

To properly RSCB your gun, here's what to do.

Posted Image

Now, take your dremel:

Posted Image

And sand the fuck out of the inside of the orange pieces.

It should end up perfectly fitting your PVC bend.

Posted Image

Now, take some painters tape to a small section of CPVC.

Posted Image

It should sit out a little back from the end of the brown piece where it sits in the plunger.

Fill dead space with shitty foam.

Posted Image

And goop over it.

Posted Image

Now, take two more small sections and cut little triangles out of their center so they can bend more easily.

Posted Image

And let it sit on the goop. This will help cushion the plunger head as well as take a bit more dead space in the plunger tube.

Posted Image

While all this is going on, you may add springs to your plunger rod. I merely wrote this part into the writeup to explain how to get low diameter springs, such as the +bow, onto the PAS plunger rod without cutting anything. Both guns in the final product remained using the STOCK spring.

Take your +bow spring.

Posted Image

Cut it in half.

Posted Image

Remove the stock spring. You may leave the brown piece on the back.

Posted Image

Start winding the spring on. The first coil or two are difficult on stronger springs but it gets very easy afterwards.

It's quite solid with just the +bow spring in place.

Posted Image

You can re-add the stock spring if you're so inclined.

Posted Image

After waiting for the goop to cure on the CPVC on the brown piece, you may now return to it. Wrap the brown piece in a few layers of painters tape, but not enough so that the PVC elbow can not slide over it.

Posted Image

Add your goop.

Posted Image

Slide the orange piece in place.

Posted Image

Firmly push the elbow as far in as it will go.

Posted Image

This is your final product for your RSCB setup on the front of the gun. If you did it right, it should be one hundred percent airtight.

Posted Image

Now, let's remove some internal dead space on the RSCB to improve efficiency. If you just end up using the stock spring your gun will appreciate it.

Take a small piece of PVC and a slightly longer piece of CPVC.

Posted Image

I had to sand out the inside of the PVC to get the CPVC to fit, but it should end up looking like this:

Posted Image

As always, goop it up. DO NOT goop it into the elbow, the elbow is merely holding it in this picture.

Notice how much more effectively this brings air to the darts.

Posted Image

Now, onto the internal reinforcements!

Here are your best friends in the world: JB Weld, and brass strips. Not pictured is sandpaper, WHICH IS NECESSARY FOR EPXOYING. Sand down your surfaces; it'll adhere better.

Posted Image

Epoxy here:

Posted Image

And here:

Posted Image

And here:

Posted Image

And here:

Posted Image

And here:

Posted Image

And here:

Posted Image

Now your internals are ready to take on anything. I can't stress this enough, though: Let your epoxy cure for the full twenty-four hours. It'll only save you time in the long run.

Let's move into making these guns more like the Doubleshot, shall we?

Start here:

Sand that sumbitch down.

Take a piece of polycarbonate (or other suitable space-filling material) and cut it to the proper size. Kids, I did this with sandpaper and a hacksaw. You can do it without any fancy tools.

Goop it in place and let that cure.

Posted Image

However, this will cause problems with your trigger. Cut it like this.

Posted Image

That part served no purpose.

Now, you might be thinking, "Okay Ezekiel, I've just spent hours upon hours jumping through hoops. And now I'm left with two of these guys:

Posted Image

What the fuck more do you want me to do?"

God damn, kid. Stop being such a bitch. Take apart the priming handles from both guns, take a trip down to your local hardware store, and pick up three 10/32 threaded screws and hex nuts.

Posted Image

Drill holes in the one with screw ports so you may fit the threaded rods through:

Posted Image

Repeat this process on the other handle, so it looks like this:

Posted Image

Posted Image

You don't really need to tighten these pieces very much. A very simple and effective space is a piece of CPVC shoved between the handles; if you did the earlier parts of this mod you should certainly have some more lying around.

These rods now pose a problem. Look at this piece.

Posted Image

Cut if off both guns.

Posted Image

Now, take your hacksaw or whatever to your stock and handle.

Notice that your beautiful little piece of polycarb blocks off that hole beautifully.

Posted Image

Do it to both of them.

Now take your gutted Nite Finder from way way way earlier.

Posted Image

Cut it on down. You'll need to do more than what I did in this picture but it's not much more.

Posted Image

Now goop a wood support between the backs of the guns. After taking this picture I took a hacksaw and cut the piece in half, so the guns are still separable and therefore will remain accessible to repairs.

Now, make a crossbar out of wood and attach it to the Nite Finder trigger. You can either skew the piece in one direction so it makes contact with one trigger first or you may dremel away at it so that it merely catches one of the triggers first.

Posted Image

And epoxy that son of a bitch in place.

And now you're done.

Posted Image

I used four inch PETG barrels and seven shot clips on each gun. Both of them top out at eighty and bottom out at sixty-five when the clip is empty. This gun now functions like a vastly improved Doubleshot, and looks pretty fucking sweet while doing it. Enjoy.

Shit guys, when did the picture limit get bumped up to fifteen? And why did no one tell me? God damn it, this shit took up six posts.

Good work, and great writeup. I like it. Not my taste, but it's very well done. I'd be careful about that connection point though of the NF handle to the PASes. In general though, it looks great.

Same question as Draconis. How is it to prime?

My question: Why so short barrels?

Because the stock spring doesn't supply enough power to make a long barrel on a long-clip RSCB effective? I dunno what K9 did and I can't personally verify his ranges but this is how I get the best results.

Very impressive beast, Ice9. How many friends does it take to help you prime it? :)

I went back to just the stock springs in each gun, because I got really fucking sick of working on trigger spring solutions. It's primeable with one hand but not really easily. Keep in mind I'm five seven and one twenty five pounds, so, you know, feel free to bulk up your guns.

That's really, really awesome. One question: How the fuck can you prime it? You've said before that you've had trouble priming a doomsayer with a plusbow spring so how can you handle this? I'm not trying to say that you're weak or any of that bullshit, because I know I wouldn't be able to prime it.

If you're upgrading springs, remember to hit the gym too. 60lbs of draw force is what happens why you put the +bow springs in.

They're also why ranges are given with the stock springs back in place.

That's just... incredible. I heard something about this on the Foamtalk podcast, but I had no idea it would be this awesome. Also, this is probably the most complex modification I have seen posted on this forum in several weeks, so props for that too, I guess. However, I must ask, when you prime it, do you grab both pumps, or only one? It seems the latter would be the most comfortable, but I would thing that would put unnecessary stress on the other handle.

Wait, so both pas's are bolted next to each other, and the trigger works so you pull it 1/2 way, it fires one, and then all the way it fires the 2nd? If so I love it.

The handle is barely wider than that of an RFDG. It's pretty easy to grip and prime them both at the same time.

The priming handles are bolted together and the trigger works in the same fashion as the Splitfire or Doubleshot.

Post removed. Don't want to get called out for fueling the fire here or sounding like an ass (Kinda realized I did when I re-read my post). But I think we all get now that that portion of the writeup was missed, so it doesn't need to be thrown in people's faces anymore. I think it was very smart to use only stock springs. It's not the kinda gun you need too much range out of.

I approve. But you knew that already. A dual-firing primary with 14 shots going 70' seems like it would be useful.

As I had mentioned in chat, I think an extra NF handle on the priming grips would do a lot for ergonomics.
