I'm considering buying a Dremel, and simply wondered, what is the 'best' one to get? The Dremel 300 looks good, and you can buy with lots of accessories. The cordless model, the Lithium Ion or w/e looks just the same, but cordless (with a display but who cares). I don't really think the cordless one and all its features are necessary, and seems a bit more expensive than I'm willing to spend.
What I'm really asking, is what rotary tool do you guys have? Is it an actual Dremel, or a cheaper brand of rotary tool? Are they any good, despite not being the 'leading brand'? And would you suggest I get a Dremel or a cheaper copy?

That's what I feared, however I feel this is a reasonable topic, where I am simply looking for recommendations. I know I'm looking for a 'starter' one, so that I can always 'upgrade' later when the first has had the best of it's days. I am also aware that it needs to be the 'right one for me'; I obviously didn't make those two things clear in my first post. I just wanted any recommendations to which I could look into and which ones to possibly avoid, and whether getting a Dremel (rather than just any rotary tool) is worth the extra money or not.

Anyways, I'll look into that Black and Decker, thanks.

Get the basic one:
http://www.amazon.co...3940361&sr=8-22

It will do anything you need it to for Nerf. I bought an expensive one, and regret it.

Don't get any $20 cordless ones, the battery doesn't last.

neither dose the expensive cordless ones. Good idea but the battery dremels never work out in my opinion.
I use the rxt and it is great-buy that one-you can find them for 25-.

I have a dremel 300 as well. It came with a really cool cutting bit that looks more like a drill bit and will never break. It's held up fine for the longest time I've ever had a dremel last, and it's still working just like the day I got it. I had a few non dremel brand "dremels" that broke within a few months. I would just stick with a 300.

5. Protip: sarcasm is good for making someone else look like more of an idiot than they already do. However, if you are an idiot to start with, using sarcasm just makes you look like a COLOSSAL idiot.

I have the dremel 300 and it is excellent. When I was first buying one I wanted a cordless because I thought the cord would get in the way, but it does not at all. I am happy I got the corded one because I don't have to worry about the battery ever dying on me or having to replace it.
