Now, before you post about how this is stupid, and should be in the mod/pj thread, read this.

With all of these reports of singled LSs almost (or in some cases actually) disabled peoples fingers, I knew I wanted to mod mine to not do that before it happened to me. I can think of no better way to end an awesome Nerf war, than to have the paramedics come, because my singled LS took off my finger.

The mod in it's self is simple, but it will save your fingers for another day. It's just a slot for the handle to rest in at the back of it's pull.

And here it is primed and locked:

The results were good, and the handle did not come flying forward, like it normally would. It unprimed its self, but did not move. Although you have to re-prime the gun if the catch accidentally fails, at least you don't have to re-attach your fingers

Very simple design, I'm not sure why this has not been thought of sooner.

But I still would like to quote soothsayer's signature, which I completely agree with.

Anyone who singles a longshot is a fucking mook.

I think singled Longshots are pieces of art.

Just me.

Awesome mod, to be perfectly honest. Simple, but can save your fingers.

I also completely agree with that, as well, under the condition that the Longshot was not broken or disabled in any way when it was singled. Mine was really fucked up (stock breach bent and cracked), so I salvaged it by singling it.

And thanks!

[/rant]
I would like to quote you, because you are a fucking dumb ass. This longshot has a freaking +Bow spring and gets atleast 100'. I have seen it in PERSON and it put a welt on my chin for a week. Not everyone singles LS's because ice or whatever. Plus, wes is fully capable of creating an angel breached longshot, hell he even has an angel breech on his BBB. People don't single an LS because they can't do any mods to it, so stop criticizing people who do. Dumbass. :P
/endrant

On topic: Nice Mod Wes, looks almost like it was made to be there. And sick looking LS as always. How is the confuse-a-ray working?

Holy shit, I never actually thought that they could take your fingers off. :P Well, then again, I can see it happening with the catch plate failing with your finger in the way..

All I can say is nice work on the locking breech. Not only does it look cool, but it won't cut off body parts.

So, it's kindof like a single-round bolt action rifle. That's pretty awesome. Great job on the pj, and that looks like a very clean cut.

I never knew that singled longshots could take off fingers either.

I'm sure this mod will save countless fingers.

It also isn't ugly either.

As are 90% of your posts. If it shoots well, that's all I care about.

If you have a brass breach and a strong spring, yeah, it'll take it off, or at least cut it deep. A CPVC breach like this one is more likely to break or rupture your finger.

So I found a severed finger at work today and it was really gross. Hopefully, people will do this so I never have to find another.

God I hate posts like this. "I already did this, but I thought everyone did...so I didn't say anything."

On topic: Nice work. I saw you mention this in the thread regarding singled ls's, which gave me a basic idea of what you were talking about.

More importantly though, I hate singled LS's. Unless it has failed (Like yours, so you are justified), don't singled one. That is, unless you make it a monster like Stormbringer.

Fingers get severed from the coupler mashing onto the pipe and your finger getting caught, right?
Weird...

Yeah, sure, I also find 90% of singled LSs that I see here to be retarded and pointless.

Whell, you're not going to loose them in a CPVC coupler, but if you were fucking retarded enough to do this, then I'm sure that finger loss is a possibility:

That's fine as long as you're agreeing with me.

Its a comfy shell with a large plunger tube that happens to have an ineffective breech and stock system. Saying that singling it is useless is like saying a single'd at3k or 2k are useless. Its honestly just a plastic blaster...

I like the bolt lock idea, however I am doing something different for the next broken longshot I get (I seem to get them alot by trades, and I don't really care) so I can't really try it. Although I do like the idea.

Singled LS's are crossbows without the pricetag or the comfyness. The LS is modular(Integration friendly.)

It depends on you'r playing style.

I feel all this flaming is due to the singled-ness.

What the fuck is it with everyone hating these things so much?
I get a lot of, "Get a BBB, LS's suck."
There ARE advantages to having the LS
1. The shell has a good feel.
2. Easy to integrate stuff to. A bbb is just gluing stuff together.
3. To get a BBB breech to open when you prime it you have to go through A LOT more work, compared to just opening a LS. In short ROF and reload time are greater.

Ok, so I know I'm probably going to get some person after my post to slam the LS and say ALL HAIL SATAN THE BBB There are benefits to both guns. Give the LS some credit, its not a worthless weapon.

I completely agree that longshots are excellent primaries, but not for shooting someone at 80+ feet away or getting in accurate shots. I personally use a non-singled longshot as my main primary outdoors because it fits my play style. But, singled longshots are less practical than a BBB because: They are less accurate, they don't shoot as far, and it is a bitch to modify it to the point where it can even compete with a BBB. Both guns (non-singled ls), however, have their weaknesses and strengths and I believe that they are both an important part to anyone's arsenal.

While this mod is ingenious, singled longshots are not as practical as some other blasters. That is most likely why people don't like them that much.

Yeah, I tried doing that, and it wouldn't edit. I'll try again today.

Edit: The "S" refused to capitalize, so I replaced it with "Longshot"

No, do this NOW, before your catch "doesn't catch very much". The whole point of the mod was to make sure it does not happen. That's like saying, "Yeah, I'll get insurance if my car starts to get crashy".
