Nerf Rapid Fire 20 Single Shot?

So I replaced the pump with a Bike Pump. Worked great for about a day.
Then the washer in the piston broke. I tried as hard as I could but couldn't find a replacement or an alternative.
So I did the next best thing, I tried turning it into a single shot gun. I cut off the pison mechanism, and have just the spring part left with a wide open hole to the air flow.
My only problem is that the power is very weak. Any ideas on what I can do to mod this out to make a powerful single shot gun?
Should I pull the piston off completely and run a Brass tube down to the actual air flow? Does the remnants of the plunger cause a loss of air?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Reread your post, and you didn't think about reading about the RF20 at all. The bladder gives a weak but large volume of air. The spring allows pressure to build, and then escape through the tiny hole on the front. You just fucked up your rf20 big time by what you said.

Choping the piston was what caused your issues with range. You should have just removed the turret. The piston and chamber are what build up pressure. You may as well just buy a new one.

Durn. Well once the rubber washer came off, I should have just left it as is, and allowed the popping piece to just jump up and allow air to escape. So the only way to even get something back of value for this would be to get a new piston....oh well, off to scrap parts it goes. In nerf as in life...you win some, you lose some.

I just took the piston out of that, trimmed the end off to hold some brass, and it looks like it will fit in the RF20.
Will post pics if it looks good and fires well.

The parts may work together, though I think it won't fit in the shell properly.Just had an idea as I opened my scrap box. I have an extra magstrike whose pump broke.

Worked like a champ. For some reason the Magstrike Piston is awesome compared to the others.
Removed the turret
Trimmed the piston to fit brass, gooped and taped for a solid seal.
PETG on the end of the brass
Rubber bands to increase power (4 #64 rubber bands)
Bike pump fills the bladder in 15 pumps, 10 if you take your time.
Shoots 10 darts before needing a refill.
Range - 60 feet 0 degrees elevation.
Pic below.
