EDIT: Actually, your barrels may be too long. I would suggest making them not much longer than the stock barrels if any longer at all.

You'll do a lot better if you spread the lips with the front. Trying to wriggle the back in there first seems a bit counterintuitive.

Above statement is mostly true, CPVC is generally used as replacement barrel material for springers, -not air guns- which actually assists ranges because of the added friction.Dart fit probably. CPVC is the tightest of the commonly used barrel materials, and much smaller than the stock barrels. Likely the stefans you made are too tight in the barrels, so it takes too much energy to start it moving, and the range suffers.
Your options are to either rip them out and try 9/16ths brass/PETG, or make stefans that fit by buying another brand of foam or stretching the foam you already use.
...If all else fails you can sell/trade it...

A magstrike is a springer, in case you didn't know. Try putting a CPVC coupler on a barrel and then lengthening the CPVC. If that doesn't work, then your darts are probably the cause.
MagStrike is a springer?! Never heard of Magstrike spring replacement...

Congratulations, you have confused me. Then what does the bladder and pump setup do?

Well its kinda a springer because the spring is inside the piston so you can't get to it.

Pump = Airpowered
Priming Handle/"Coker handel" = Springer.
EDIT - By my definitions. If you want to consider it a springer, that's fine, but I say it's airpowered, as you can only mess around with the bladder and pump. Not any springs. Clips too, but that doesn't matter.
'Nuff said there.
But. I've actually never seen any Magstrikes getting 50-60 feet at all. Most mods just make it able to shoot 2 or more clips in one pumping segment.

... to be able to get a better burst or sustained fire, rather than blowing the whole load at once.

I didn't say it wasn't airpowered, I just said it was a springer. The cocking mechanism just happens to be powered by air.

The deal with the piston mechanism is that it works like an "air gun" or "pump gun," not a springer. The easiest way to test this is to hold the piston in your hands. After it reaches the most extended part of the stroke, hold onto it and don't let it return to it's resting position. As the valve open that normally allows it to return to it's resting position, you hold it in place but notice that the air still rushes out, just like before. Without the plunger moving back like in a springer, the dart can still be launched with just enough force.
I really need to post all of my findings with these things, because I have at least as much experience with them as I do with Big Salvos.

The spring is to regulate the amount of air that fills the piston which is then expelled BUT NOT BY THE SPRING, just by the pressure thats built up. This is why (sorry can't remember his name)'s piston expansion works on the rf20. More air is required to actuate the piston, but the same pressure because of the spring regulation.
His name is oodalumps. Here is his RF20 mod.
