I recently got a crossbow and have done the every mod I can do(reinforcement, relacements, coupler etc).

The reason im mad is I have heard people getting 100+ feet flat with a crossbow like mine. I have a DT3 spring replacement, replaced plungertube, and a replaced plunger head that make a perfect seal within the new plunger tube.

Can someone help me out?

The yellow balls are also slightly smaller in diameter than the green ones.

Bungies. Slap on 3, and it will get crazy good ranges. With my PT replaced, replaced spring, perfect seal xbow with NO bungees, I was maxing out at about 85ft. Bungies, I was getting 125, before I reverted back to the stock PT.

It takes a lot of love and care to get crazy ranges out of a springer. Simple problems such as mediocre plunger seals or poor dart fits can significantly hurt ranges. Don't expect miracles out of a blaster.

Is your seal TOO tight, so much that is causing friction?

Although some experienced modders can get ranges like that, a lot of people lie on the internet. If your getting 80-90s or just 80s, thats still pretty good ranges.

Wow lots of respone, I like it!

StealthMan: 80-85 feet flat, no bungees.

Hi Yah!: Yes.

Darth_Tom: Barrel is OMCs thichwalled PETG and the darts im using are blacksunshine darts, as my darts don't fit PETG good enough for a springer.

What about the plunger seal? it looks like the stock seal so that would make me believe with a new plunger tube it's not gewtting the best seal it can get.

Nice, that's the exact same barrel and darts I use on my Crossbow. How long is your barrel? One foot should be about perfect. And your main problem is probably your seal. Just check it really quick. You should be able to dry-fire your gun while completely covering your coupler with your hand. And the gun's plunger handle should move extremely slow, or stop moving altogether. If you can't, just flip your plunger head around and hold it there for a minute or two.

I guess you have some heavy duty industrial strength toilet paper holders. Do they advise you to wear eye protection when changing rolls?

This was my x-bow, and I must say that the seal is perfect. Not too tight or too loose (please don't sig). Your problem may be the power being put into it. Beef up the spring or slap on some bungees and see what happens. I re-enforced it all pretty well, so it should hold up.

If that plunger rod is a made out of metal, like it appears to be, that could be your problem. The extra weight may be slowing down the plunger head to the point where it dramatically reduces your ranges.

On the other hand, the guy who posted before me used the word 'fuck' a lot so he probably knows what he's talking about.

What you didn't do is reinforce it with aluminium and nails, which I did. Hot wheels beat that!

It's one of Slug's aluminum ones. Shouldn't be a problem, you just may need more power to put it.

You put a dt3 plunger head into the replaced tube? Assuming you used my writeup, that's too big. Use the stock head. If you used the next size up for the plunger tube (which is what it sounds like), I suspect the seal would be very good. Quite frankly, a solid aluminum plunger rod weighs a lot more than the plastic one. Adding bungees, beefing up the spring or reverting are your only options. Not sure why you ignored everyone else (except Shrub, that's obvious - he's an idiot).

Thanks split.

Also the plunger head is a bbb's plunger head not a DT3's. Does anyone happen to have a solid crossbow plunger rod? I got one with the crossbow, but it seems to be broken beyond repair, and yes i do know how to repair one.

It's only 3 ounces heavier than the stock one.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

Wait is your coupler Rawray style? It sorta looks that way so that causes some dead space. Seriously do you NEED that extra 10-20 extra feet?

Rawray's setup shouldn't be a problem if your barrels are set up right. I'm using a rawray'd original crossbow plunger tube with a dt3 spring and one mini bungee. I'm usually hitting low to mid nineties with it. Just slap a bungee on there and you should be good to go. You're not going to need to hit anyone 100+ feet away anyway.

Quite frankly, I'd say replacing the plunger tube wasn't the smartest idea, but that's just me. I've always gotten fantastic performance out of the stock plunger tube, as does Cannonball, as did Ragornocks, and as did Rawray7.

But what Cannonball said is 100% correct, in my book. You don't need redonkulous ranges to be proud of and use your xbow. Just because everyone else is playing the range game doesn't mean you have to.
