the other day, i was messing around with i piece of pvc when it hit me. If i shoved a lit frecracker then a dart down the barell would it lauch the dart? so i tried it. Although i slightly burned my finger (the pvc got xtremely hot) it launched the dart around a hunded feet and made a satifying boob noise. Has any done this before? Any comments? Also, i am not asking for safety info. I know this is dangerous.

I've put a firecraker in a dart, lit it, put it down my sm5k and launched it. If you time it right, the black cat will explode right it mid air. The only thing was I was risking the chance of blowing up my gun. But that sounds pretty cool. I wonder what would happen if you put a mini firecracker in brass tubing with a stefan in it...

Thats what i did, except with pvc. I didnt launch the dart, not the firecracker.

So, you guys are making 18th century muskets? With boobs?
While it may propel the dart nice, is it practical? You would have to make a system to keep the firecracker in one end, closed, and have the dart in the other. Just keep in mind that firecrackers don't always go off, either.
Although, it does seem to be something to play around with. Like on a boring day. Don't let me discourage you, go ahead and make a combustion blaster.

Couldn't this be really useful? You could quite easily make cartridge out of a small piece of brass (i think it'd be better than PVC, safer) with propellant (could be a firecracker, altho you could use black powder, which can be bought cheap at Wal*Mart), a dart at one end and the other end capped off, aside from a small hole with a single "cap" (the kind you use in cap guns, one cap off of an 8-cap ring) inside the hole. Gut a cap gun for the firing mechanism, and make a casing to house the firing mechanism, mag, etc.... and you would have one kickass gun, which could easily be semi/full auto.

Hey, ive made crazier stuff than this, trust me. (various xinventions.com stuff, taping bottle rockets to paper airplanes, etc). An nothing bad has happned to me yet. Now about those hooks i have for hands...Just discard the whole idea altogether... Am I the only one that realizes that DollaTCC just described a real bullet, and that either way whatever your using as a barrell will eventual break. Also because the barrell will have slowely been weakened more of the explosive force will be used to hurl shrapnel then would be normaly used

i put a bottle rocket in my launcher then an nerf arrow (without the stabalizers) and it flew up so far and it didnt come back down... i think it exploded
