So I took the idea that Oompa had and just expanded on it a bit.

Materials:

Amazing Goop
K&S Brass tubing 17/32"
PETG 1/2"
1/2" Drill bit
5/32" Drill bit

Steps

1. Take your 1/2" drill bit and start boring out the air restrictors from the barrel. I twisted the bit by hand or with a set of pliers so that I would not drill too deep. You will get down to the Air Restrictors and just keep drilling until you see the 3 pronged dart holder. Now use your drill bit to get the last bit of plastic that is holding the 3 pronged dart holder in place. You will have to twist hard, and heard a snap , then pull the bit out.
After this you should be able to use a screwdriver, lineup the dart holder and just turn the gun over, which will spit out a spring and the dart holder.

2. Now take your 5/32 " drill bit and drill through the clear plastic at the bottom of the barrel. Just like Oompas mod. Be careful not to drill too deep or you will ruin the gun. I hand turned it, and then used the pliers to pull once the hole was made. This made a clean hole.

3. Now cut your brass and PETG, I used 4 inches of brass and 3 1/2 inches of PETG. Or better yet, use any size brass you want, but cut your PETG long enough so it can hold a stock dart, and the end of dart will fit into the brass.

4. Use your amazing goop to put your PETG on your brass, and then more goop to put the brass into the barrels. The method I used was to put some goop on the end of the tubing around the outside of the tubing, then stuff it in, this guaranteed that the goop woudln't get into the holes and restrict air flow.

If you don't know ranges, it's cool. But is it a pretty major bang for your buck?

I don't know if this will help you, and I know you said we could use any brass length, but I would have a shorter brass length since your darts are placed at the tips of the barrels. This will give you mobility and decrease the potential of barrel damaging. No one likes to replacing barrels that are nicely gooped.

At 30 pumps, and 10 degrees elevation , the stock system went about 20-30 ft.

At 30 pumps, and 10 degrees elevation, the modded system went about 50-60 ft.

Note this was with stock sonic darts. My office nerf wars don't allow the stefans cause they hurt, don't want to poke an eye out. So that's what I tested with.

The one thing I noticed with the hornet, when pumping you need to hold the darts in the end of the gun with one hand and pump it with the other while resting the butt against your knee or thigh. Otherwise the darts come out. But you can pump this baby all day and the more you pump the more shots you get out of it. I pumped it up about 50 times, and was able to get 12 full power shots off before having to re-pump the gun back up.
