I pity the fool who attempts to use a single-shot blaster against me.

I figure that if you can't/aren't willing to take a hit from 20 feet from an 80+ blaster, you need new darts. I made these for a while and they hurt like you wouldn't believe. These rank right up there with paintballs with the kind of damage they dish out. They should only be used for testing to see if a blaster functions properly and nothing else.

Its okay. I'm so tired of people calling him either Uin13, a dick, or an asshole. I just don't think you should call people by their youtube users on NH, and from the one time I've met him, he seems like a pretty cool guy. He's really nice, and not (in my opinion) a dick/asshole at all.

No.I think that he would be a cool guy. He has some of the best modding videos on youtube.
He does not.
Period.
At least his older vids are the bad ones, they are getting better.
(No offense ice, I just hate goobers.)

Those will hurt. ALOT. Don't make them that way.I wanted to make some stefans but I couldn't get any BBs. However I did have some steel washers like the ones used for Captain Slug's stefans but no felt discs. So, I invented a new stefan where you hotglue the washer to one end of the stefan and then put a dome of hot glue over it for safety. Make sure that the hot glue doesn't drip over the ends or it will be a pain in the you-know-where to load your darts.
See you in a year.I think that he would be a cool guy. He has some of the best modding videos on youtube.

Honestly man, I'm going to have to agree here. He didn't get me into it, but it was the first modding video I ever watched/followed, ever.
On topic, I think this has been responded to enough as to how painfull these would be, but I'd just like to speak out from a little personal experience. Putting a hot-glue dome on washer stefans is comparative to using the little rubber tips that I believe someone mentioned in the dartsmithing thread. They hurt. A lot. Don't do it. I have, just trust me.
Hey...I got a crazy idea: how about you stop all that sigging stuff? It's not even my thread and it annoys me.

A washer dart gave me a black/blue mark on my foot.
A regular dart stung for a couple of seconds and no marks appeared.

Eboreg: I don't know about you, but I can't read forum topics with my eyes closed. Really, where have you been? You have 157 posts... Washer darts with hot glue tips have been around for a while, and they are generally extremely erotic by the NIC.
Slug: Theres probably some physics behind it, but why would hot glue tips from washer stefans hurt more than hotglue tips from bb stefans?

I don't understand this either. Wouldn't the hot glue hurt just the same?Slug: Theres probably some physics behind it, but why would hot glue tips from washer stefans hurt more than hotglue tips from bb stefans?

You can't create a nice rounded dome of glue on-top of a washer. What you end up with is a sharp point in the center, or a very flat face with a flat piece of steel underneath.I don't understand this either. Don't use steel washers as dart weights unless you are also using felt discs.

Just go to fucking Walmart and get some steel shot. BBs are a buck-fifty for 1500.
Even I can afford that.

I'm terribly sorry for this travesty and will avoid it in the future. I would also appreciate it if the information about where to get BB's were added to the nerf wiki to make it more accessible since a search for "BB" on a topic will give you an error.
BBs should be pretty easy to find. Every walmart carries a few air rifles, and thus BBs. Most sporting goods stores have them, especially those which sell firearms.

You did not invent these. People have been making these for a long time. They are all over youtube.

Not to be off topic, but this is true. Emphasis on youtube. He has some of the best modding videos on youtube.
It's not that hard to be good on youtube, considering a couplered nitefinder is considered "advanced".
I'd have to disagree, I have made some very successful hot glue domes on washers. They still hurt like hell though. You can't create a nice rounded dome of glue on-top of a washer. What you end up with is a sharp point in the center, or a very flat face with a flat piece of steel underneath.
Don't use steel washers as dart weights unless you are also using felt discs.
Anyways, take everybody's work for it, don't make hotglue/washer stefans.

Oh......
I've been making plenty of washer stefans and I never noticed that they hurt more than other darts...although I've somehow managed to not be shot with them except out of a plusbow from 30-40ft. Usually what i do if the glue falls over the side, I just get some pliers or scissors and cut it off until it fits nicely. It's worked so far and I haven't used any that have sharp points to them. Most of them surprisingly are well made. I push the washer into the hot glue enough so that some of the foam is surrounding the washer so it wouldn't hurt that much.

Good point. I'm adding these to the banned list for DAFT 09.If you're hell bent on using washer darts, you can cut 1/4" slivers of your fbr to use as tips. Far more time consuming and tedious than Slug's, but far more likely to be allowed at wars.
