I've looked at many websites but can never get it right, so If anybody has a favorite dart they make or a daigram or anything on making darts please post them or send them to my email: Cheesymouse3@hotmail.com

Also I'm new to NerfHaven so if theres anything I should now please tell me.

Very polite and took the time to look for spelling errors... nice.

Welcome to Nerf Haven.

I have a few dart designs that I use most often. One is my nail weighted 'Blade' (made popular by SB) and my other one is a normal BB split shot fishing weight. I make my darts 2 inches in length, and sparatically I make them 2.5 inches. I am quite good at making darts, as I am preparing to make 200 for my MMNO, happening in March. I can give you a tutorial I wrote up a little while ago, which is a 5 page How-to on Stefans.

Tell me if you are interested.

Not in the game anymore, but it was great while it lasted. Thanks for the great years of fun, NH!

The way I make my darts Cheesy is-- cut the dart 1 inch long, take a hot glue gun and burn a hole in the back and front of the dart, then take a bb size fishing weight, drop it in the front hole of the dart then cover it up with hot glue (try to make the glue like half circle.
Thats how I make my darts so good luck!

Did you drill the pegs out of your PC?

You need to get a dart that's very close to 1/2" and shove it all the way back into the clip for the PC to be worth a damn.

If you get a gun with a longer barrel, try making your darts over an inch.

This is how I make my darts. Take a 2 inch section of FBR, take a burning hot nail, then make an impression in the centre of the dart about 1/8 inch deep. Then put in your BB or fishing weight, and cover with enough hot glue that it makes a good seal, and is slightly capped. Don't put to much on that it goes over the side, or when you go to pick it up make sure you don't tip it to early to cause it to mis-shape.

Post your results here. Some of the other members or I could tell you what is wrong if you describe what your darts do.

I make mine about 2 inches long and use airgun pellets for weights (1 for pistols, 2 for higher power weapons) For some strange reason my darts work better without a hole in the back.

When you put the hotglue on the tip of your dart, a good way to get it to dry fast and in a perfect dome is to have a bowl of ice water and ser teh dart in there after you put the glue on the top. The dart will float but because the tip is weighted it will sit in the cold water which will harden it quicker. It also gets a perfect dome most if not all of the time. Just leave em in there for a minute or two, just make sure that they don;t stick to the sides of the bowl!

Ok I'm getting some pretty good ideas here but also how do you straighten a dart because they come in rolls. I've tried hairdrying them for literally about 1/2 a hour each, and they still don't get straight. :)

dude, just throw all your darts in the clothes dryer when your done for like 30 secs to a minute. Low or maybe medium heat. The settings and time are trial and error pretty much. Not enough and your darts will still be curved, too much and they'll shrivel up a bit, just gotta find the right amount.

Cheesenerfer, what kind of FBR are you using? The stuff (md speciality) you get at Home Depot is a little thinner than the foam used in nerf micros, while the black stuff you get from Loghelp.com (I think that's the site) is a little thicker. I have used both and found that the Home depot is better for making zero darts to fit in 1/2 in. PVC. But the Darker and thicker FBR fits better in stock guns like the Power Clip and the Blast fire because it has less wiggle room in the barrels and thus does not let air escape around the body of the dart when it is fired.

It's all about matching the correct foam to the barrel of the gun you are using, it's like brassing a gun but insead of picking the barrel to match the foam, you are matching the foam to the barrel. The one option you might try if you don't want to order foam from the internet, is inserting short brass barrels into your Power clip, I don't know if it's been tried before but who knows.

Good luck
