so here is the completed version of Serenity
named after Malcolm Reynolds ship in the short lived TV show Firefly

This is a big blast and an AT2K inside of a firefly shell

Here is the link to my youtube video

The video and this post will pretty much contain the same information so save your time for doing both

the firefly's shell needed some dremmel work to clear out all the plastic that held things like the tube and plunger and the trigger but other than that it fit in rather well. I remade the bigblasts pump but cutting off the original plastic it came with and replaced it with a longer piece of 1/2" cpvc. there is a coupler on the pump towards the head which prevents the pump from completly falling out because the couple is too large to fit between that narrow section in the back of the firefly.

The rail system is made from two pieces of 5" 3/4" cpvc and two pieces of 9" 1/2" cpvc which act as a rail to guide the pump so it will only go back and forth and not giggle around. That and I love the look of external pipes

there are no official ranges on the big blast or the AT2K however since they are fairly standard mods I expect them to get your average range from their respective counterparts out there.

so any questions, comments or concerns?

The title of the thread caught my attention, but definitely one of the most imaginative uses of a firefly shell I've ever seen. Great work! I'd love to see a paint job.

A bit fugly, and maybe a bit awkward to pump, but overall a nice gun.

That stock pump you got there is pretty damn neat, I gotta admit. Not quite my style (pumps in stocks), but still.

As tantum stated, I prefer my stocks nice and sturdy to "tap" people with, but I like the idea. I also like the use of PVC piping as an aesthetic touch. Heck, if you painted it gold/bronze you could get away with the steampunk look.

the stock is fairly sturdy, thats the point of the rails
and that was the only reasonable way to do it with a bigblast

Good job on the stock though I would have to agree on the exposed tank. It looks a bit odd though it can certainly be cleaned up easily enough. I assume this is what you'll have at DCNO?

There's an old orangeish-red Big Bad Bow with a flashlight in it named Serenity. Perhaps you should consider a new name. Haha.

It is very cool, but I'l have to disagree here. I think this deserves it's own thread in that he has the video, internal pics, and it is somewhat (if not 100%) original. I think that it's unique enough to warrent it's own thread.

On topic-I reallylike this. As others have said, the stock pump isn't really my style, but at the same time, I really, really like it. The rail system was a good idea. Seems to keep it quite stable. You may want to work on cleaning up the front portion though. All in all though, good work.

Hey...I got a crazy idea: how about you stop all that sigging stuff? It's not even my thread and it annoys me.

I really like what you did with the pump. Also, very clean integration.

I love how you installed the pump and the rails to hold the pump system. Also, nice use of a firefly.

Creative use of the firefly, props. Isn't it a little awkward? I like the look though.
