Hello

Today I was measuring how far my stefans went comparded to my converted tagger darts, and regular stock darts. My cdtds went the farthest, then were the stefans, then the stock darts. I thought stefans were supposed to fly the farthest. I use steel BB's as weights. I am shooting with a modded nitefinder.

Question 1: Am I right that stefans should shoot farther
Question 2: How many steel BB's should I use per dart
Question 3: Would different foam fly farther

Here is a pictures of the foam i use and the BB's
Please comment returning answers to my questions and give tips on how to make the stefans better.
FOAM AND BB'S
Thanks :P

Not for shorter range Nerf blasters like the Nite Finder.
A dart that weighs more is only advantageous when used in Nerf blasters that can fire them at higher muzzle velocities.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

Slug pretty much summed it up. Basically, the faster the muzzle velocity of the gun, the more likely a lighter dart is going to flutter out of control. The weight keeps the dart going straight. Also, are your steffans too loose in the barrel?

Sorry for sounding off-topic, but when I viewed the picture the username that the person used to upload it was metsgorock.

Wasn't metsgorock banned?

On-topic: try using different weights.

If you see me in the trading forum, I am most likely posting for friends. They are very into trading/buying/selling guns. Me, not so much.

It all depends how your foam fits your barrels. I believe you are using Home Depot foam, as do I. My foam fits my barrels tighter than cdtd's so they go a bit further.

The yellow balls are also slightly smaller in diameter than the green ones.

Your foam looks like crap from lowes. So that might be the problem and also are your CDT's weighted the same?

That is leading me to beleive you are using a low powered blaster such as the NF. NFs will not work well with a heavy weighted tip. If you use something like a PAS then you will notice that your stefans will fly further and more accuatly than your CTDS.

So I should make the dart with 2 BB's.

This has turned out to be true.
