I'd like to note right now that the Ball valve designs are as old as potato guns. In fact, the one is a potato gun, the other is a modification they probably made before anyone in the NIC did. I just don't want kids calling it the "Zero homemade" or something. People called a basic ball valve homemade a "Sniper5000 homemade," and look where he went!

This is going to depress you, but I have no idea. Unlike all the other designs I've contributed to this site, these two new designs I haven't made. I got a request for a basic homemade writeup, and with so many questions on Hose Handles, I figured I'd make some visual and textual aid to those new to the homemade field. I've built custom parts that use everything these homemades require, to perfect success, but never have applied it into those specific designs. I never really had the desire to do so, I was happy with my Nerf guns. So really, these are just guides, as opposed to instructions. If I had you under any other impression, I apologize.

I've made a gun very similar to the Cutlass, though, with the same hose handle, but a much larger tank volume. The best I can get out of it is around 90 or so feet flat. This is centrally because the best pressure I can get into it with the large, inefficient bike pump I have is about 50psi, no where near the pressures I wanted. With a smaller pump, you could get those, but that desires a smaller tank volume, like the Cutlass there, or even smaller still. I'm working on it.
