I use camping foam. It is the kind used for foam camping pads. That’s what I have in my PAS I’m not sure if you remember how quiet that gun was.
Here is a pic.

Just about anything that can absorb shock can be used as silencing. Foam materials, cloth, and similar things. I know Sputnik used shirt sleeves to help silence his PAS.

So... could I rip up one of my shirts and stuff random parts into my NF? or SLS?

You could use taht expanding foam in a can. It's kind of pricey but it should do the job.

Yes, I think sprayable foam insulation would be good for it too.

fallinouttadabox (intentionally lowercase): sometimes you want to be somewhere between thinking in the box and thinking out of the box. Trust me, I would know.

The advantage of having a seven year old... I have lots of socks with holes in them at my disposal. I use them for silencing and as rags.

I've used cotton balls in the past, they seemed to just soak up the sound.

Camp foam or the foam from nerf balls attached to the plunger head works extremely well, that along with silencing to the gun with FBR works wonders.
