This will help me with future site design projects.
I run 2560x1024 (dual 18" LCD) which gives me a slightly different perspective on the web.

I play most of my games at this res, but, like spectre, I'm forced to lower my res in some of the newer games; XP1600+ @ 1.55ghz with a ti 4200 just doesn't cut it any more....mmmm...upgrade....

Obligatory demonstration of geekhood (and my department's budget):Heh, Slightly. Sure. <q>
(the browser is at roughly 1024x768, Photoshop is at 1280x1024 in my other monitor)

Me.My...fucking...God... Cx, who needs a screen that...LARGE?
I don't exactly use it for gaming.
On a typical day I'll have Outlook, InfoMaker, and Term Services open in the left display and several IE windows, the data map for the database I support, Winamp, and Trillian open in the right display.
To use InfoMaker (reporting tool) I need to constantly refer to the data map. In Term Services I'm usually configuring servers on my network and am constantly checking online docs. Much less taskbar/alt-tab shuffle.
I work much faster, my boss is happy.

I was at a site and they were running tripple apple cinema displays, and using every last pixel of them too. They were running brain wave monitoring software.My...fucking...God... Cx, who needs a screen that...LARGE? I mean holy crap, you could play two different games on there at the same time. I'd love to have a screen that large just for using Photoshop...damn cramped area.

Damn. Three fucking Cinema displays? The 20" ones? EVERY FUCKING LAST PIXEL?!I was at a site and they were running tripple apple cinema displays, and using every last pixel of them too. They were running brain wave monitoring software.
I just use the 12" screen on my iBook at it's highest resolution setting, 10248 x 768. I try to use every inch of it with iTunes, Safari, and whatever school work I'm doing, but it hardly ever happens.

Well they had 256 channels of data that they wanted to observe at the same time, you need lots of space to do this. And yes those are the big 20 inchers, I get all mushy inside each time I take one out of a box.Damn. Three fucking Cinema displays? The 20" ones? Julie gets me a 3 month membership to Digital Blasphemy every year or two. They have some super-sweet wide format and dual monitor rendered wallpapers. There are usually a dozen or so free wallpapers on the site - though I don't know if any of the 2560x1024 images are in the free gallery.I enjoy mah dual monitors. Where do you kids go to download good desktop backgrounds? I haven't really searched for desktop stuff since deskmod.com took down all their stuff.

Meh, I'm not impressed by their renders... Never really have been, either. I'm more into minimalist type backgrounds, not cheap-looking renders.Julie gets me a 3 month membership to Digital Blasphemy every year or two. We have similar systems besides the monitor. Not too similar but the same amount of ram the same mobo, similar proc. And Similar HDI'm running 1152x864 on this crappy ass 17" monitor. I usually run games at 1024x768 though. 800x600 if it's a demanding game.
