Hello

Today I went to target, bought a nitefinder, opened it up, and modded it just like uin13 did in this VIDEO The only thing I didn't do is add the cpvc. He says he's getting 80ft flat and 100ft angled with his stefans. With a perfect CDTD i shot and am only getting 55ft flat. Do you think its just my darts, or do you think uin13 is talking BS. Comment and tell me what you think.

Thanks

Two questions:
1. Stock barrel?
2. Have you tried it with stefans?

This may probably affect range.

1. Use stefans. You will get better ranges.
2. Do a barrel replacement.
3. Uin13 was newer then. Something tells me that he exadurated those ranges a bit. 80' Flat out of a nitefinder is quite hard to achieve. You'd need a very powerful replacement spring, PETG barrel, and appropriately fitting stefans, perfect seal, possibly even a mini-bungie or rubber bands.

Hey...I got a crazy idea: how about you stop all that sigging stuff? It's not even my thread and it annoys me.

What weight were you using? Also, what kind of barrel were you using? If you were using stock, that's where the problem is, cpvc barrels are much better for ranges.

Yes, I was using a stock barrel, but a 25 ft difference over a barrel. I don't think so. For my weight I use airsoft bbs.

Airsoft BB's are too light, and the stock barrel isn't going to do the job. What do you have for a spring? How's your seal? Anything else you can share would help greatly.

80 flat is streaching the truth, but what he did do is add a Crossfire spring and double up the O ring.
One question, did you do a full AR removal or just take out the peg and spring part?

That's definitely not enough weight. try using copper BB's or those little lead sinkers used for fishing.

Actually, from a physics point of view, the extra time that the dart spends in the barrel while still being pushed by the air flow allows the dart to accelerate to a much to a higher velocity than that of a stock barrel. Because of the short length of the stock barrel, the dart is not able to use up all the air power that is produced by the plunger tube in your current set-up. That combined with the in-efficient weight of your air soft bbs, could easily account for the lack in distance. Also, the 80' is a bit of a stretch, I can never get past about 70'feet flat.

I did everything except the cpvc barell. I added a crossfire spring and for the air restrictors lets just say i can see all the way through my barrel to the plunger.

This is exactly what I do to the darts I make. 1. Take of head of stock dart
2. put a dab of hot glue
3. Put a .20 gram airsoft bb
4. make a dome of hot glue over it

I use one airsoft for weak guns. The nitefinder is not a weak gun. If you could try and fit two it might work better.
I use slug darts.
