So, I just modded my BBB, and here's what I've done to it:
  • +bow spring
  • Washer head reinforcement
  • Brass barrel
  • Cleared dead space
  • Coupler'd

Now, here's whats going on: I prime the blaster, sounds safe and good. I press the trigger, and the plunger is released, causing the head to spring forward. It SOUNDS like it would work, but again and again, the dart does NOT leave the barrel. I put in a dart made for CPVC in it, same problem. Tight, loose, perfect, the dart will not leave the barrel.

I tried to produce some pictures and whatnot to help the situation, because I know how much you guys love pictures.

I had the same problem.

Mine Problem was that the piece that connected the coupler to the gun was on the white piece that goes in between the plunger, and the barrel (I think its part of the AR, that you have to keep in), so it didn't let air in. So what I did was cut the barrel connecting the gun to the coupler, about an inch or two, then i drilled holes in that little white piece.

That might be you problem.

I notice that one of the catches is missing. On the left? At the start of the video you can see it. I'm not sure that it matters, but you should probably have it in there for stability anyway. I'll crack open my BBB and see what could cause this when I get the chance.

Don't forget to cut the top half of the tan rubber plunger head off. (Well more like 1/3 to 40% of the top half of it off) I gave the same advice a few hours ago today/yesterday in a previous thread. It might help fix your problem too, good luck~!!!

Did you make sure to lube it up? With all that power on the plunger head it may be gripping the walls of the plunger tube like a bum holding his wellfare check.

Put some baby oil down in there and prime it a couple of times and try again.

Alright, I'll try all of that.

On the plunger head cutting though, can you give a diagram boom? I don't want cut to less/much.

Sure Mez. Try cutting off about that much from the pic. If it's not enough, then slice off very thin layers slowly until it works perfectly. Also, very important, you'll need to wrap a few layers of E-tape around the orange stick that goes through the rubber piece to make sure the rubber piece stays on. Otherwise it might come off after a few shots, so with the E-tape wrapped around the orange piece, it'll give it a better grip and wont slip off.

Also a suggestion. For the orange head piece (the one with the purple filling in your pic above), try wrapping 1 layer of E-tape around the edge of it, and wrap it so that you can flip half of the E-tape inwards into the inside of the orange head piece. It should give it a better seal when you re-assemble the gun together, and give it a tighter grip.

I believe the stock seal is so bad that the new spring is pushing it so fast that the air going around the stock seal and losing almost all f not all air. But I'm not 100% sure.

You said that the stefan would not leave the barrel, but have you felt around the barrel when you fire it to see if any air is leaking? Or even coming at all? This could help isolate the area you have to look at. Sorry if there was something in the video relating this, I cant watch youtube videos. Fricking school website blockers!

That purple stuff is hotglue, not felt. I just cut back the plunger head, no improvements and the barrel does nothing at all now.

Wait... What? Nobody thought the purple stuff was felt. Where did you get that from?

Also.. what type of brass are you using? And is that 3/4 cpvc on the outside?

I think the problem might be the problem because my bbb works with 2 bow springs with no reinforcements(except in catch of course). But i'm not the best modder out there so...it might be that the barrel wasn't in the notch? i don't know for sure...

It may not be clear but did your throw out the white AR holder that goes in between the orange barrel and plunger head? And that other catch is pretty important. Also, is the dart not completely leaveing the barrel? Or is it just staying where it is? If its the former then your barrel is to long.
