Wow very nice, but in the video it still seems that your balls drop very rapidly, especially for the last two shots.

The chances of one person taking a bomb on a plane are one in a million. The chances of two people taking a bomb on a plane are one in a trillion. So if you're scared of a terrorist attack, bring a bomb on a plane.

It looks as though he has the gun aimed slightly downwards which would explain the drop. Once again, great work!

I was very dissapointed when I shot this thing several minutes ago. All the balls came out at once. I tried shooting at lower pressures, and they came out one at a time, but ranges were abysmal. Shooting one at a time was okay. But for some reason the balls, immediately after leaving the barrel, slanted down. I was shooting in my basement which is about 30' long from where I was shooting. Shooting the single ball at this angle caused very little ranges. I'm also considering making the entry point tighter so not all the balls shoot at once.

Wow. Just Wow.

What the fuck? You just quoted something made irrelevant by my update.

Thanks. It's a bit random after 30 feet or so. I've had some go perfectly straight and others spin down like that. Cheesy's also probably right. I think it was also angled down, but I don't remember and don't feel like watching the video again.

Thanks for the compliment and pointing that out.

The air output on that thing is pretty awesome. Good thing you didn't shove a barrel in, because it would instantly be war-banned.

I think you were angling it a bit down, but who knows. If you could possible fix the drop, you'd have an awesome ballgun.

Try cutting rifling, if you can. Or, put diagonal slits in the muzzle to make a vortex in the barrel. Same effect. Or if you don't want to, cut a slot in the bottom of the barrel to put backspin on the ball. Or just leave it as-is and have horrible accuracy.

Not to thread-jack, but I feel it needs to be said that singled Roto Rockets of ANY kind are banned in MN Nerf Wars. I'm not sure about other areas, but I certainly hope to god they are.

On topic: I've been wondering if anyone would come up with a decent ball-shooter style gun, and this seems like it might actually work at a war. Any plans for future use of this blaster?

Just from looking at banned lists on war threads, it is occaisonally brought up as guns that used to fire megas or larger but now fire micros, but that might be just pump-plugged.

I've never seen these things mentioned specifically.

But enough with the side chatter, back to the actual thread.

The accuracy is fine within 30 feet, which is the range at which I will be shooting this. Also, a slit would slow the part of the ball it contacts. So a slit in the bottom would give topspin. I'm not going to be playing tennis with this thing.

Thanks. And yeah, this will be used in the ball gun rounds at SOF Seattle.

If you want backspin to have a more level trajectory, I recommend putting a strip of painters tape or something with a little grip on the top portion of the barrel. With any luck, the ball will catch a bit and spin backwards without losing much speed.

You'll do a lot better if you spread the lips with the front. Trying to wriggle the back in there first seems a bit counterintuitive.
