Why? I mean this is the OFF TOPIC forum. Its supposed to be about shit. Why the hell are they all closed. And im betting this is gonna get closed soon, with a funny pun. But it wont be funny to me.

I agree with you, but as you have probably noticed, it has only been happening recently, and recently is when Nerfhaven's bandwidth has been getting overwhelmed. They are just trying to save bandwidth by closing the threads that aren't going anywhere.

Because if you want to ask silly questions, post about stupid things, you can really do that elsewhere. Just because most other forums have unmoderated crap fests people call "The Off Topic Forum" doesn't mean this has to be the same way.

I suppose the moderators want to keep the threads limited to those that perpetuate some form of intelligent discussion.

Which makes me wonder why my art thread is still open. (Not that I'm asking for it to be closed...)

I know this was closed already, but I want to answer that question.

Most web forums out there have an off topic section like we do and I think you'll find they're WAY too active. There are people in this world who will only post in off topic of a forum. Paintball forums are really bad about this. And most of it turns out to be a lot of bullshit. What are you eating, what are you listening to, what kind of movies do you like, political debates and all of these topics are pointless. Teenagers post in there and no one reads it. Nobody reads what other people are eating. I don't give a fuck, you don't give a fuck, nobody gives a fuck. Your opinion literally doesn't matter to anyone but yourself. This is a nerf forum, and off topic has always been generally discouraged. If you want to talk about yellow men on the street or what kind of cell phone you want, I suggest you make some real friends. This is not your spring board for every little thing that pops into your head. Now if there's something not nerf related that we can actually talk about like a new movie, video game or anything else that will not spark debate, rather interesting conversation, then they're not closed. We have video game topics and we had one about the watchmen. That kind of thing is okay, but generally, no one posts them here. You can't blame us for that.
