WOOHOO! Sorry, just had to let out the extreme euphoria of finally being able to post. My name is NerfNukerz, and I will be persistently annoying you from now on ;) . I have been working on a BBB with something akin to the design ForsakenAngel24 used for some time now. However, I am only able to get about 50 ft with it, using a good stefan. This is the gun:

This is the breech open:

I used the original piece that kept the gun from working unless there was an arrow on it to push the darts into the barrel. You can barely see it in the picture. I was wondering if anybody had any tips on increasing the range. I would prefer not to have to open the trigger section of the gun.

Also, has anyone else noticed that a 1/2 inch piece of cpvc fits perfectly inside a longshot clip? I am working on a stefan longshot clip that will go over the breech currently (I may have questions about it in the future; be ready).
Thanks in advance!

Note: Because I said thanks already, you have to give me some helpful info. It's like paying in advance.

Have you added any springs? Have you increased the seal of the plunger head yet? We kinda need to know whats been done before we can make any real meaningfull suggestions.----Rogue.

Did you do anything other then the breech mod to increase range such as increased seal and a better spring? Also how is the seal on your breach?

I have not done anything other than the breech (is it spelled breech or breach?) mod. I was trying to avoid upgrading the spring, and I didn't know that upgrading the plunger seal was possible. I must check this out. Actually, at this point the seal is not the best one on the breech. I don't want to make it any tighter by adding any more e-tape and risk breaking something or getting it stuck. It is, however, good enough.

Great first post!

The reason you are probably getting 50 feet is because of loss of air to dead space. If the top of the tee coupler towards the end of the barrel isn't plugged (meaning airflow goes anywhere else besides out of the main barrel) then you are probably losing air to dead space causing a decrease in range.

Adding a larger spring, lubing the plunger tube and increase the plunger heads seal is what gives you better range. Doing this will greatly increases the power.

Edit: Using brass as your breach will make it 100% airtight and allow for it to slide smoothly.

Now that we have an idea whats been done and what has not, I would suggest a spring addition and improve the seal on the plunger head. Try this-- http://nerfhaven.com...15

Thanks for all the help!
A side of nerf:
The tee has actually been cut so that it does not connect to the barrel. Look again.

alex:
I made it out of cpvc because I didn't have brass or the ability to cut it, and I didn't want to order online.

How long is your barrel? When I was working on my Bbb with FA24 a couple of weeks ago he told me that making a barrel for a Bbb over 8 inches was a bad idea due to the fact that it just dosen't have the power to do all that pushing and still maintain a powerful release.

This may be kinda hard to do at this point in time depending on how high up the gun your second tube is.

Crooked: Did you see that guy who singled a doomsayer?

Pearson: Why would you single a doomsayer? Thats like taking a Ferarri and putting family seating in it.

I like the simplicity but the barrel looks a bit too long.

Wow...I was working on something exactly like this a few weeks ago. Anyways. To increase the seal wrap 2 layers over the plunger head (the grey rubber thing attached to the plunger rod) push the excess e-tape from the front edge of the plunger head into the little crease. This will improve plunger seal.

I strongly urge you to add an extra spring, a NF spring nested in the original spring works perfectly.

Once you do that you should get ~70' give or take.

The barrel is about 7 inches. I made it this long because I am working on a clip system for it that uses longshot clips.
Thanks again for all the help!

If you'd done your research you'd find a plethora of mods to increase the range of a BBB beyond what you have done. If you'd like someone to invent a way of moding your gun without taking it apart, it's not gonna happen. I'd rather not have threads devoted to people explaining what has already been written up.
