I recently got a SM1500, and was looking forward to modding it. The previous modder has just taped on some PVC barrels, and then put about 15 layers of duct tape on that. After digging through all that shit I looked at the turret. I realized that the barrels weren't sealing with the back part of the turret that connects to the tank. Has this happened to anybody before? I searched and couldn't find anything.

Also, it's a new style 1500. I don't know if that helps or not.

I can't. My mom took my camera to florida and my iPhone can't get good resolution and super close. Are you familiar with how a 2k turret seals? It's the exact same way.

Exactly like a 2k? If you have a correct sized o-ring, use that. If not, try and add a small layer of hot glue around where it should seal.

Get another O-Ring and use that in place of the previous one. It should work.

Your Tank is probably in the thread were the turrets rests usually also make sure that you have that O-ring at the back of you turret. If you don't have that just send me a pm I have like 35 of them. I will send you a couple.

..So after you rotate it there is still a gap between the front and back parts?

From what I know about an AT2K turret, it sounds like the front part partially slid off the metal bar that goes through it....(I'm assuming that that it's exactly the same in the SM1500.)

Wow, so much misinterpretation all at once. Read what he's saying guys.

umpshaplapa: This was a problem with both my turrets. I took them apart and found that the sealing ring on the turret holes at parts missing or were misaligning (ie poorly made). I replaced them with 2K turrets, but I did have the regular leaky turret on there for a while before I switched it out. It performed fine. I haven't exactly tested, but with the 2k turret it doesn't seem to be tagging noticeably farther. This probably had a lot to do with how a loose of a fit my darts have in petg.

Conclusion: Don't worry about it unless you're using a tight fitting barrel material. I can walk you through installing a 2k turret and keeping it straight in accordance with the shell if you want me to. I have a pic in the mods and paintjobs thread of my 1.5K's. Hit me up if you need anything.
