Recon Problem
Is this a safety mechanism, or a pointless chunk of plastic?

Does this little wedge shaped piece have a use?
Somehow, it has suddenly began to stop my Recon from priming.
Anyone know exactly what to do, if I'm just having a stupid moment?
Thanks.

It's a safety that keeps the bolt from being pulled back again if the plunger is already cocked.
It's pushed down because of a little nub on the plunger tube. Make sure the plunger tube is aligned properly. Or you could take it out.

So, if I take it out, will it give me a shotgun effect if I have a clip full of short stefans?
And will I suffer any adverse affects from it?

Well I would only recommend it if you have replaced the barrels. And it won't shoot worse if that's what you mean.

Since i'm in the middle of doing AR removal on a couple of my friends recons i decided to give the shotgun idea a go.
I did the cocking very slowly so that i could watch the stefans and make sure everything went well, but i was able to fit three small stefans into the barrel. Each time i cocked it the stefans stayed in the rear of the breech and were able to stack up. Upon firing.....well they fired, about 20 feet.
While technically it works, it didn't feel good and i doubt it would be effective in any way shape or form.

Just make sure you keep it until you have test fired, you don't want to make a mistake by throwing it away prematurely.
