Pretty simple, I would just like to know a decent size barrel length for a doomsayer. I will be adding two extra springs along with the stock one too(bbb and ls). I only need a few answers or opinions because I don't want the barrels too be too shot or too long for the amount of springs I'm adding.

Thanks.

If your darts have a good fit in PETG use 12" barrels.

I believe Angel's were 12", and SGM were either 8" or 10". I'd go for 10" personally.

The original Doomsayer uses 12" barrels

My Doomsayer uses 12" barrels

^ Those two radically different Doomsayers both seem to work perfect with 12" barrels, so I'd say 12" is a safe bet.

EDIT:

I will be adding two extra springs along with the stock one too(bbb and ls).

Then you will definitely want no less than 12 inches.

I'm using 10" just because I'm only using a LS spring and an industrial spring.

I'm also using 8, cut back from 12. Works infinitely better.

Your gun fires over infinity feet? Are those flat ranges?

I think they are ranges shot in dead space. I haven't made a doomsayer but I would guess using 10"-12" barrels would be good for alot of springs.

Its Ice remember. Those ranges are just guessed from his porch. I can imagine the crappy video. "Yeah, my Doomsayer seems to be shooting about infinity feet, maybe infinity plus one"

And all the little kiddies wanna jump on his nuts.

ANYWHO, I would say 8 or 10 inches. As much as using the full foot seems like a good idea, often what I've noticed when doing testing with springers is that you get better ranges with shorter barrels, and your accuracy can be improved, but there is a precise percussion point. Too short you lose range and accuracy, too long and you get the same result. Just test with your barrels without glue.

Many things come into play when you're deciding barrel length for this blaster:
-Turret-Plunger tube seal
-Plunger head-Plunger tube seal
-Lubrication
-Spring power
-Dart-barrel fit

Therefore, it's hard to say basically, the worse all of those things are (Spring, lube, and seals), the shorter barrels you should have, because you simply will not get enough air output to use 12" barrels. Also, if your darts are too tight or too loose, you may have a problem with long barrels. My recommendation though is start out with 12" barrels, gooped and everything, test it out, and then, if necessary, you can cut down the barrels while already mounted (Just run the whole turret (just the ends of the barrels, obviously) through a bandsaw). Take it down by 1" incriments until you find a length that suits your blaster well.

Hey...I got a crazy idea: how about you stop all that sigging stuff? It's not even my thread and it annoys me.

Ugh... I meant it shoots alot better with 8" barrels then with 12" barrels. My doomsayer only hits about 80 though, due to only a BBB spring.

Will I ever find respect on this site?

It's highly unlikely. :D

On Topic: I'm using 9" barrels on mine, with 1/2" +Bow spring and the stock spring. I get about 80', but I haven't done anything with the barrel seal yet either.
