I have seen check valves as part of the rigging for frankenstein guns, and I am planning to make one of my own as soon as I get the parts. So my question is, what does a check valve do, because it may be useful for me to know about these in the future of my modifying career. Sorry if I'm being a total noob with this question, but I will be greatful for all replies concerning this question.

A check valve allows air to go in one side, but not go back out that same way. Like you have ran tubing out of a titan tank into an AT2K tank. Without a check valve, if you fired the titan tank all the air from the 2K tank would drain away. With the check valve, you can fire them indepndantly.

A check valve is a valve that allows air to pass in one direction (i.e., into a tank) but not the other (back toward the pump).

Ok, thanks much you guys. Sorry if that was a really dumb question, but I do think I'm going to have to use one of these (you'll all see why soon.)

They are most commonly used for multi-airtank integrations and are useful in making homemade pumps.

There's more to a check valve than only letting air go one way. I am pretty sure that a check valve also will only allow air through the valve if the pressure of the air is greater than the pressure of the air stored in the chamber. I recently read something like this in a thread having to do with valves. I think Just Some Bob is the one that talked about this. Maybe he could provide a better explanation.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

No, they BOTH have the wrong link. Here it is. I hope that helped.

We're not discouraging people from joining a Nerf forum, we're discouraging them from joining this forum. It's an important distinction because, frankly, we don't give a shit. The Haven was created to escape the idiotic masses, now they're all here. -cxwq

This is information that could have been found by searching a variety of sources. Hand holding will NOT be encouraged unless you are merely exchanging long protein strings.

Also, wing'd man, Homestarune, that is not productive or funny. If you'd met one of those qualifications I might not have furrowed my brow so disaprovingly upon reading your useless comments.
