All righty. This is my latest, and one of the reasons I haven't been as active on the boards of late. Incidentally: This will be my 666th post.

Start with your run-of-the-mill Big Blast. The BB is renowned by some of us for its jaunty looks, and by all for its astounding cheapness. Also, it will kill a squirrel at close range after 5 minutes of modding. So it goes.

I started with the coupler. I wrapped the stock barrel in e-tape, cut it down to the width of the e-tape, nested a bit of 1/2" thinwall in a 1/2" coupler, slid the coupler down over the tape, drilled a wee hole, and put it all together with a screw. No glue failure here. I then hacked a bit of the shell wall away to fit the coupler in. I cut it down just below the top of the reinforcement post.

The trigger: everyone knows that these can be trouble.

So I filled mine with epoxy putty, and put 2 epoxy putty ramps on the sides. I then cut a plate of scrap plastic to size, cut a groove in it, sanded it and the trigger, and glued it on the front. I then trimmed the plate to fit. This not only strengthens the trigger, but also improves the trigger pull. Mine now has no slack or sponginess, and is extremely crisp.

Now, on to the real goodness. I started with a 2k, upon which a standard barrel replacement had been performed. I cut the top part of the shell like so, and added a strip of scrap pvc to add bulk.

I also sanded down the wee hump on the back part of the shell, until everything was fitting nice & straight. I then tacked it to the foregrip of my BB, and after making sure it was straight, I proceeded to glue the shite out of it. Hot glue is extremely solid, if you know how to use it, and this baby ain't going anywhere--although I'll be adding some tape if I take her to any wars in snowy climes.

Also: if any of you are about to vituperate all over me about how it isn't clean, etc., etc.: feel free to choke yourselves until the urge passes. This was created with but a single purpose in mind: kicking ass in style. It's also my reinterpretation of the Guru, so it will be going up against Papa Vader at SENO. Comment away, fellas.

Very nice. There is one thing I would do differently, though; drill a hole in the 4B's tank and splice some tubing from it onto the AT2K tank, with a check valve in between. With an extra pump or two on the 4B you fill up the AT2K at the same time and that way you only have to use one pump!

Seriously though, that is an awesome gun.

Thanks. The only problem with that is that if I were to need to fire the 2k first, it would deplete the BB tank, which complicates matters. I'll leave that procedure to better modders than myself...

Awesome job rork! I was gonna do the exact same thing with my longshot.

Are the ranges usual BBBB and 2k ranges?

The Airtech 2K looks like it is slightly angeled up. But still a great job! Are the pumps plugged?

The BB is scary as hell, as per the usual. The 2k is very lightly modded; I did nothing but get rid of the ARS, replace the barrels, improve the seal between the tank and turret, and eliminate the top part of the goo guage. There's really no need for it to shoot more than 60 or so, anyway.

The curve of the 2k shell suggests an upward angle. It's hitting right on the money. And no; there's really no reason to plug a BB pump, period, and in this case, the 2k doesn't need to be pushed to its limits.

Been there, done that. I did that with a 3k tank and no check valve, the 3k had a single barel for long rang and i kept the stock barrel for missile shooting for the heck of it, Ill post pics in a while.

On-topic:
This is reminds me of the crooksbow as well. One thing is that just hot glue holding the at2k on though? In cold enough weather hot glue gets pretty brittle and just snaps/breaks off of things, not sure what the weathers like in your area though.

Nice work Rork. I actually might do something of this nature to my bbbb, as it feels kinda empty the way it is.

Yes, I recall seeing that, or at least something similar being posted. However, I find it worth mentioning that that addition of a check valve would make a large difference in the mechanics of the gun. One could fire the 4B tank without depleting the AT2K and repump the 4B without exploding the AT2K. This would allow for a lot more versatility in the use of both guns, allowing the user to keep the AT2K shot as a secondary to keep people at bay while reloading the main gun.

^yeah, that's true. I've actually discussed those kinds of systems pretty extensively with Zaxbys (the somewhat unheralded master of them), and suffice it to say that I decided to go all KISS on this one. The only problem with what you're saying is that I anticipate using the 2k as the first, leading shot in a rush, then nailing the guy with the BB on the reload/run, if necessary. It just fits my playstyle. I'll update post-SENO with my impression.

As for the hotglue issue, meh. It isn't likely to be seeing too much use in truly cold weather, and like I said, I'd tape it up like a mummy prior to any such outings.

Everytime a SENO rolls around, rork, you manage to come-up with yet another gun to debut and field-test...

But I'll hand it to you, I look forward to seeing that at SENO along with several other uberguns (Guru :P ). And good idea with the epoxy putty and trigger, don't know why some of us down south hadn't thought of that before.
