Welcome to the write up for The Countess.

This is a write up for a Unique contract.
We will be starting with a stock max shot.

Lets start with the new breech.
First I would like to say that this breech is inspired by Captain slug, Black sunshine and my very own Angel breech.

Take a piece of PVC and superglue it to a male threaded coupler.
Then make a mark about 2" away from the coupler on the pvc.
Posted Image

Now cut into the pvc a hole that is large enough to fit your stefans both length and width wise.
Also take a piece of 19/32" and make sure it is of equal length to the PVC assembly.
Posted Image

Now fit your brass in the PVC assembly and make sure it goes all the way to the back of the coupler.
Then make an outline on the brass so you know where to cut.
Posted Image

Now cut your brass and slide it back in and make sure it fits nice and snug. Use E-tape and plumbers goop to ensure a good snug fit.
Posted Image

Now take 1/2" of 9/16" and put it inside the threaded end of the coupler into the 19/32"
Then take 1/2" of 17/32" and put it inside the 9/16"
Then take 3/4"" of 1/2" and put it into the 17/32"
Posted Image

This assembly works kind of like an Angel breech but backwards. I guess that makes it a "Demon Breech".
Now take the desired length of 9/16" and put it in 19/32" through the front.
Posted Image

I am also going to suggest adding tightening rings for two reasons.

#1 I have found all spring guns work better with them.
#2 The rings will prevent you from pulling the barrel too far out.
Now also wrap some E-tape around the exposed end of Brass, lather some P-goop on it and add your 1/2" PVC.
Posted Image

Simply add the female threaded coupler as close to the plunger tube as possible.
Posted Image

Now take as much inches of 15/32" brass as you need and extend it even closer to the air source if you need to.
Flare out the end towards the air to receive better air flow. Also don't forget to superglue all of your brass connection points. All except for the 9/16" main barrel. Then fill all the dead space with hot glue. I took this opportunity to add a plunger cushion right after. Remember kiddies less dead space = better performance.
Posted Image

Now the next part is both cosmetic and functional.
I did not like the way the handle felt. I didn't think it was "grippy" enough.
So I decided to do something about it.

Take 2 1/2" couplers and drill out there center pieces. Then super glue them together. Draw a line down the side. Keep it as straight as possible.
Posted Image

Now drill holes along the line and bore them out one by one. Sand once finished and polish each hole so it's nice and smooth to finish it clean.
Posted Image
Posted Image

Now slide it over the original barrel and super glue it in place. Looks good doesn't it? Wait until the paint comes.
Posted Image

If you have done all of these steps you have made this new breech.

Now I will explain how the breech works for anyone who hasn't caught on yet.

You pull the front of the barrel forward to open the breech.
Pop a stefan in there.
Pull the breech shut. As the breech closes the 9/16" with tightening rings will push the dart back into the 1/2" barrel. That 1/2" will push the dart into the tightening rings while the 9/16" continues to move farther backwards. That's right kiddies, You can shotgun load this bad boy!

The 19/32" acts as the sheath.
The 9/16" is the main barrel.
The 1/2" is the stopper which actually pushes the stefan into the 9/16" While the 9/16" keeps moving backwards.

Now I put the coupler very close to the plunger. There is a shot in the video you will see that there is a lot of dead space in the max shot plunger.

Now as for how the coupler looked in the shell.
Posted Image

It's flush but it looks even worse than a gaping crossbow. So I decided to do something about it.
To do this write you need to lightly lubricate everything you don't want to stick. Then bust out the epoxy putty and go to town with it. This is the end result after it has been sanded down. Don't forget to leave a thin seam along the middle.

Now I found a couple spots where air was leaking through. A manufacturing problem I guess.

Spot #1. Where the orange meets the White on the plunger tube. I noticed that it wasn't sealed properly and was leaking air. An easy solution was to Goop it up.
Posted Image

Spot #2 The plunger head itself. Was also leaking air. The solution here was also easy.
Posted Image

Another modification that needed to be done was a trigger extension.

This was rather easy. I super glued a piece of plexiglass onto the trigger and epoxy puttied around it.
Posted Image

After I sanded it down and made it nice and comfy to fire.

Then give the entire shell a good sanding with a light grit sand paper. I like using the sand paper sponges for this stuff.

Then lay it all out and get to work. I used Duplicolor flat black.

Posted Image

Once the work was finished I detailed it by hand.
I used Testors silver.
Posted Image

I loved the way the barrel turned out by this.
Posted Image

The front looks real clean too.
Posted Image

This blaster was also reinforced with epoxy putty.
For this I simply added epoxy putty where the weak areas of the shell were.
I also helped silence it a little by adding foam. The plunger cushion does most of the silencing though.

Now it's time for something new.

Set up your cleanly painted max shot.
Posted Image

It is time to mess it up!
Posted Image

To do this I took dark red Testors paint.
I researched how to do splatter effects for art and I came across this website.
Watercolor Tutorials.

The end result is visually stunning.

Ranges: Normally I would only need a 6" barrel but this puppy needs 7"
Power, It is stronger than my normal max shot which gets around 100' So I would say it is achieving ranges slightly higher. Maybe 105-112'
Possible official range test coming soon.

The Countess video.

Questions, Comments, praises, first borns and virgin blood are all welcome.

Holy shit. That is amazing. I loved the breech and all, but the PJ is just amazing. It looks like you took a nicely painted gun and played a long game of left4dead with it. It reminds me of the picture you put on facebook of my cousin holding that bloodied up maxshot at massacre 2.
I can't wait to see this thing in action.
Props.
EDIT: I thought this was the gun that would be lent out to participants at massacre3. I watched the video, and saw it was for sputnik: You are one lucky bastard.
IMPORTANT EDIT: I would highly recommend staying away from that insta cure shit and going back to fishin glue. I got some at my not so local hobby shop to use on my angel breech. I could never get the thing to work. The nub broke off first cock every time. I used some epoxy putty on it too, but it broke off the day before HbH2, and the pieces at the end holding the 1/2 brass came loose too, so I singled it (FrankenMod) trust me, it is low quality stuff, I would really use zap a gap or fishin glue.

Freaking awesome man, just awesome. I'm curious though, why the threaded coupler? Wanted to keep the ability to change barrels? Anyway, sick job, and I love the paintjob. Nice ranges, nice vid, and amazing blaster.

So, this is the monstrosity you spoke of...
Very nice, I finally know what to do with that black+silver big blast and all that testors dark red I have....

I'm sure that this painting technique will be emulated.

While I wouldn't personally do it to any of my guns, I can appreciate the style put into that paintjob. Sickness.

Regarding the breech, is there any reason why the dart stop is 3/4" of 1/2" in 1/2" of 17/32" in 1/2" of 9/16" in the 19/32 sheath? Wouldn't you get a better seal out of 3/4" of 1/2" and 3/4" of 17/32" giving 1/4" overlap between 17/32" in the coupler and 9/16" from the barrel?

And since I am here, I will say- How do you guys cut the dart slot with a hacksaw for breeches? Sorry I am off topic, but...

This is a cool mod, but do you think it could be performed on a FirstShot? What size barrel do you think it would need? I unfortunately don't have a MaxShot, but my friend has a FirstShot waiting for me.
