Nerf is very cheap. At least for some people. I started working on nerf guns because it was so cheap. Of course if you bulf up a collection it can be expensive, but airsoft (at least high quality) is much much more expensive. I have spent more on airsoft than anything else in my life (recreation-wise). Unless I'm misunderstanding your post.
Nerf is a great hobby IMO. This topic is pointless IMO.
Edit: I agree with guitarman. I had a post awhile back talking about Nerf, Airsoft, and paintball in which I do all three. I suppose SGM does too.

This is a very, very stupid topic. One of the big draws of NERFing is the cost. You can get a good gun and lots of dart-making stuff for less than $30 and be able to war for a while before buying anything more. Nerf is very far from expensive. Even if you consider the Xbow to be the holy grail, that's still no more than $250. My airsoft guns are worth ~$1000. My paintball gun is ~$500. That doesn't include ammo, batteries or gas.
Okay, Okay! Your point has been made! You're right maybe this is a stupid topic. I just figured that not everyone that visits this site is loaded, a guy that never screws up a mod, or has a paying full time job.($60 isn't exactly easy money for most people) Yes nerf is cheap. I understand this much. However this doesn't change the fact that sometimes I have to choose between Taco Bell and a Night Finder. So sue me! I put this under the Off Topic forum so if anyone had a story to put up that they would do so. Pleas do not bomb me for wanting to see if anyone had a story to tell (Obviously you don't! Congratulations on the $1000 airsoft gun [round of applause] I don't see other than rubbing salt in the wound what purpose that served.) (Also, maybe for you your materials last a long time, but I nerf with buddies quite often and many of my supplies need regular replacement.)(The admins can delete this if they want because obviously no one has anything good to say)

"ah man, I would give you so much for one of those NIB crossbows or one of those crossbows on the floor. The ones on ebay have gone up to $59 and the shipping alone is $12." -Rip32

I give up lunches at school sometimes, so I can use the extra money. It adds up.

Apparently you can't read, and you didn't get my point. It isn't a $1000 airsoft gun. It is $1000 worth of stuff (hence guns and not gun). I was making the point that even if you spend a lot of money on nerf, it is still cheaper than airsoft or paintball. Much cheaper. For the price of a mid-range paintball gun like mine, you could get a crossbow and enough ammo-making stuff to last a life time. Or you could get 10 longshots and angel breech all of them. Even after that, you'd still have extra money. If you don't have money, get a job. If you aren't old enough for a job, do odd jobs for people. I have been working summers since I was ten in order to buy my things. It's rewarding. So rather than worrying about what you have to give up, just work. Then you can have Taco Bell and Nerf.

The Devil wears it around his neck.
Sometimes I can hear his blackened heart beating.
Beating harder and stronger.
Echoing through the worlds separating us.
Filled with Hate beating harder and expanding larger.
This Ruby soul a prized possession shaking like a pebble in an earthquake.
Deep war drums in my brain beating harder and faster.
Booming with the rage that has stewed and grown over centuries.
Searing from heat like fire through skin that gently covers boiling blood bolstering with a desire for revenge.
There is a beating in my head and no aspirin can calm it.
The only good thing about this subconscious holy war will be its ending.
What have I sacrificed?
Far too much.
Anyone remember that I am also a writer?

I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

In all seriousness, mostly my math grades.

Love the poem FA_24. For those who are wondering he really isn't that scary in real life... Until he gets his game face and doomsayer on, that is.
It's just screaming to be rearloading...
I seen a movie about that once.
