Has anyone considered taking a flip phone such as the Razzr or a phone of that style, and modding it into a digital gun sight? I mainly had this idea for My paintball gun, but could be applied to any gun. Any ideas, suggestions, or oppinions? Im deffinitly going to pursue this idea so anything would be appreciated.

Seems like a waste of money, unless of course your phone is broken. Are you implying that you would utilize it's camera?

Well yes of course, I have an old razzr that i no longer use becouse I got a new phone. My idea was bassicaly to take the phone and open it about 90 degrees, and cover the 90 degree angle with a triangle made out of plastic or something, that corisponds with the measurements of the phone...if that makes any sense. And then use some sort of thin wire or fishing line to make a crosshair overtop the camera lense.

You would have to use very thin wire. Also use an angle bracket for keeping it at a 90 degree angle.

Well thats why i was going to use the plastic, but thats a good idea. I just need to figure out a way to not block the buttons on the side, and a way to mount the sight on something and it still be removable/adjustable.

Why do you need a scope on a gun that doesn't shoot more than 100 or so feet? How are you going to make a scope for a weapon where the bullets don't fly straight, or consistently? Finally, why would you waste AT MINIMUM 50 bucks on a low resolution camera phone sight, when your eye is the most complex optical viewing system created by man?

Last thing I want is to crap my iphone screen on someones overpowered cardboard-perforater. Novel idea, but not terribly useful.

Considering the quality of most flip phone camera's are crap, the sight would most likely be useless. It actually makes it look like you are farther away than you actually are! So you could use it as a reverse sight I guess? Not only that, but unless you programmed it to automatically go to the camera when you open it, you would actually waste time getting to the camera therefore getting dominated by your target. Sorry to bag on your idea, but it just.... Doesn't look like it would be useful. At all. But if you do succeed in making a flip-up electronic sight of some kind, I look forward to seeing it.

God of Thunder darts do fly consistent and accurate if you use the right weight and center it well. He didn't say use your $400 phone. I see those pay as you go Verizon camera phones advertised on TV for $20. Like Pineapple said Iphones are for spoiled brats ,and accutually I don't even have a cell phone right now so dang.
