Different Nf Problems...

The problem is that the NF I have doesn't shoot much more then a stock. I removed the ARs, put a second spring in, put another o-ring on, as well as a crayola barrel. I'm estimating less then thirty feet, and I'm shooting micro stefans. The barrel was epoxied to the air chamber.
Other stuff I've done: I have taken off the places where the air chamber screws into the shell, but I don't think that's the problem since the air chamber is still a tight fit and doesn't shake around much as far as I can tell. It's been minimized, and I have a little foam around the air chamber where it doesn't get in the way.
Any helpful advice would be appreciated, and don't think I'm a noob. My first mod was the longshot and it gets 70".
If you're in Tokyo and happen to be packing foam weaponry, PM me for upcoming wars in the area.

Well no wonder! If your LS gets seventy inches then, by proportion, your NF should only get about twenty-five inches. I'm sorry, but your just a terrible modder and there's nothing we can do to help.
...
Okay, I couldn't resist. Maybe it's my terrible sense of humor. " means inches and ' means feet. Seriously though, I was kidding. We all make typos.
If I had to guess without seeing the internals, I'd say try a new barrel. I used to use crayolas and they worked... a little... okay, not really. You are almost better off leaving it stock. Just for kicks though, how well do your darts fit?
[...] and don't think I'm a noob.
Don't worry about it. You're cool. Plus, if we thought you were a noob, saying that wouldn't help your case too much.
...and ideas are bulletproof. "

I agree that crayola barrels suck, but could any one or even all of these things combined cause my NF distances to drop 30 or 40 feet?
The darts are somewhat tight in the barrel when I'm using micro stefans.
And I didn't say the plunger was loose.
I don't remeber saying anything was loose at all..

Also, unlikely related to your problem, but you probably want to secure that plunger tube.

From my experience, "tight" in a crayola with micros is largely because of the fins that help keep the ink cartridge in place. The dart is held somewhat firmly, but a lot of air is escaping around it. You need a tighter barrel to take advantage of your improved plunger speed and seal. The darts are somewhat tight in the barrel when I'm using micro stefans.
And, like VACC said, your stubby barrel isn't helping matters.

Just from inferring what you have posted:

i should put that in my sig........
anyways on topic:
I think maybe the barrel is too tight and maybe its causing friction...just buy some brass or some of OMC's PETG that will help im sure of it
So stop with all the "new Recon" crap. This thing definately isn't a Recon, I'll wager my soul. Someone can quote me on that if they'd like

I think you misunderstand the nature of springers. You want a tight barrel. CPVC is generally very good for stock darts. As Carbon stated, the Crayola barrel is the wrong kind of tight, as there is not a good seal made around the dart itself. Pressure is not built up like it should be.

The NF was my first real mod, and my friend Tators really helped me do it right. The best technique is a 3/4 to 1/2 CPVC coupler hot glued onto the second AR (drilled out), then put a 3-4 inch piece of CPVC in the coupler. Now, before you put the gun back togther, you need test it for airtightness Put the plunger in, the blow down the barrel, it air leaks by the coupler, add more hot glue. If it leaks by the plunger, add more e-tape. If the seal is good, lube it up, drop it in, and your ready for battle. One difficulty, though, is the fact that the case will need to be dremeled bigger to fit the coupler.
I fear that here the crayola barrel as proved too good to be true, just because it is dead simple to find doesn't mean it's good to use, stick to CPVC unless you really know what your doing. And if you don't want to buy 10' of CPVC, as a friend for the length you need.
Happy Modding!

added that hilarious quote to my signature, while playing with my butthole!
On topic, like everyone else was saying, your barrel is way too short, and you need some cpvc. I would suggest putting a cpvc coupler on it. I did that, and mine kicks ass.

Whenever I make crayola barrels, I always use a 1/2" drill bit and just go all the way through the tube. I also use a long circular file to sand out the inside. Also, which side of the crayola are you using. There is a looser and a tighter side to it.

It's too short because I cut off the part of the crayola that has the 'fins' or whatever, so what Carbon said about it can't be quite right. Well, it does need a longer barrel, everyone agrees there.
The springs aren't the problem, TantumBull, I just checked and they don't get caught on each other.
RVMTVProductions, the catch spring flew out when I opened the gun.
The darts barely stick out at all.
So, a new barrel, lube, and check for leaks.
One more thing; what should I do to attach a metal barrel to the plastic? I think my epoxy is watered down or something, because It doesn't stick on metal.
