Hey guys. I'm trying to figure out what concentrations of age demographics we have here in the Nerfing community. If you could pop your age in the poll that would be great. This is anonymous and won't be used against you in any way.

On the second question, are you a Nerfer (go to wars), do you mod, do you do both? Are you just a collector? Or do you have absolutely no life and are just here for the entertainment value.

This could make for some interesting statistical analysis. I'd also be interested to compare these numbers to the ages of people that attend wars to see how well they match up.

hmm. it's got me thinking. An interesting little project might be to write up an entire nerf demographics survey.

I don't think so. Since forum rules say you have to be at least 13 to be a member then the first group covers 13-17. That's only five years.

Its way too early yet to say "most" fall into that first category. True at the moment the under 18 group has the most votes, but only with a slight lead.

Let's see where we go. We can always do another poll later.

Update: ok, now it looks like the under 18 group is pulling way out in front.

100 votes already? So far it looks like roughly 84% of this board are 21 or under, and 84% of this board both modifies guns, and goes to wars. At least so far.

I think it's funny that the later the day gets, the more kids are released from school, and the higher the number of underage votes climbs.

I'm on break, and a lot of people probably are right now. This probably contributes to the underage voting.

i only mod...For two reasons

1. There is ZERO nerf battles even near where I live

2. I love modding way more then Nerfing

Because sometimes there is no one to nerf with. Or like myself, some people have a compulsion to modify stuff. For a while, it was computers. Then cars, car computers, other electronics, Steampunk stuff (still a favorite), and currently nerf blasters. That reminds me, I need to go build a few mechanical watches.

Easy, you do whatever floats your boat or what works best for you. Personally I enjoy working in my workshop or sitting at the drawing board and working on a blaster rather than working out on the field with a blaster. It's all personal preference. Not to say that I don't like getting out and nerfing, I just love working on virtually anything.

Just stick to #2. #1 is never an excuse for not practicing the hobby. If there's no Nerfing around your area, you have to take the initiative and start it yourself. It might take a year to build up enough of a playerbase to host dependable wars, but if one is really motivated, they'll do it. That helps advance the hobby more than sitting in a tech lab and never actually using your creations, but to each his own.

Here's a hint: 296/148 = 2

Bigger hint: It's counting total votes: 148 people have voted in both polls, making for 296 total votes cast.

On topic: If only we could link age to nerfers/modders, so that we could see if younger or older NH members are more likely to Nerf more.

I love to mod, but I don't go to official wars, my friends and I have mini-wars all of the time. Actually, I am at one as we speak!
