Please don't bash me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like Hasbro is sponsoring the Dew Tour to host "the first ever NERF dart tag world championships"!

Linkage: http://5ones.com/ner...s-dew-tour-900/
Other Linkage: http://www.pr-inside...ic-r1059012.htm

The second link also has the entire product lineup for Nerf's 40th Anniversary. There are is some interesting stuff there.

Comments? Thoughts? Ideas?

I don't know. I think it would be fun to go own little kids who think they're AWESOME SNIPORZ with their stock longshots that shoot 15' flat.

If it's Dart Tag, there will be no Longshots.

I think it's safe to assume that they would prohibit modified blasters.

I wonder who the "Nerf Dart Tag World Championship" is open to. It would be funny if we could get someone to go to this thing to beat everyone else there. The prize (if there is any) would probably be a stupid plastic trophy or a nerf gun.

I think that they would provide the blasters as its easy to do internal mods without any changes to the exterior of the gun.

EDIT: Good point Groove. With stock weapons this "war" would certainly be a huge adjustment. I still think we could do pretty good (if we were allowed to go). "own' was poor word choice on my part. A nerfhaven member (hypothetically) winning this event would be funny, mostly because it would piss hasbro off.

It's a commercialized, stock version and potentially televised version of a NIC-organized war. Since Hasbro is one of the main sponsors, I seriously doubt they'd allow modified weapons of any kind. If you did participate, you'd probably be forced to use the new Dart Tag blasters and wear those ridiculous glasses with orange lenses, or some new re-packaged variation on the idea.

Just because we modify the blasters and have some semblance of nerfing experience doesn't mean we would "own everyone else there." I doubt any "owning" would take place, as most of us have become accustomed to using modified weaponry or otherwise having our darts travel a good 50 feet at the minimum, not 15. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with a stock weapons class, but I wouldn't make any assumptions on how well anyone would do since these are, after all, stock Dart Tag blasters...air restrictors and all. They'd essentially all be the same.

I bet you could sneak in a modified gun if you tried. Also, If it's bring your own gun, will they allow buzzbee and older nerf guns(discontinued?)
Also, Mabie its a sprot related thing with a nerf football or somthing. Also, most of the "new" guns sound like olderguns.Where have I seen a ten dart automatic rotating barrel before...

I agree with everyone, especially Groove. After Preview- I have now begin to disagree with boss and 327.
Now we have to play the versions of Nerfing with those very sucky and unrealistic Dart Tag rules.

If you read the second link, it says that NERF is the most popular brand for boys ages 8-12. I disagree, especially since the whole site is age thirteen or older. And all those noobs who are twelve (referencing people like Sawed Off) who are probably thinking that we are all twelve and that no one uses things that are above the labeled age.

Those damn Hasbro executives!

I just thought of something. If this is a promo for nerf, then they most likely include all of their new dart tag guns (there are a few just check out the second link). What good would a promo do if you were promoting old guns that would get replaced sooner than the new ones.

Assuming that this event will happen before the release dates of most of these guns, veiwing any coverage of this event would give us some insight on the performance of these new guns.

I agree. If they supply us with guns, they will probably give us the strikefire and hyperfire, but if they let us use the new ones, most of the NIC would probably want to be there. It would get a lot of attention.
What I'm thinking is that one (or two) of the new guns would be the prize, or just a lot other guns.

I'm guessing that if someone showed up with a stock Longshot with a stock DTB integrated into it they would reject you. They should have a special bracket for using modified guns, if there were enough.

It sounds like a point-blank range paintball match haha. A stock war sounds pretty fun actually. Close-quarters gunfight anyone?

It seems to me like this is a bastardized version of an actual war. Also, on just about every nerf gun box it says "Do not modify darts or blaster." Naturally they won't let us bring our modded AT2K's, SM1.5's or Crossbows. Also this seems like this is some kind of promo event for the new line of guns, therefore I highly doubt they'd let us walk in there with a stock version of any blaster that isn't currently on store shelves.

We're not discouraging people from joining a Nerf forum, we're discouraging them from joining this forum. It's an important distinction because, frankly, we don't give a shit. The Haven was created to escape the idiotic masses, now they're all here. -cxwq

Hasbro sponsored the Warped Tour a couple of years ago if I remember. All that a "sponsorship" means is that they get room to demo their latest products. For the Warped Tour it was the DTG's when they first came out. It's just a marketing thing. I wouldn't read too much into it if I were you.
