EDIT: I wasn't sure where to put this topic. If it is in the wrong place, please move it.

Upon first reading needak's post about a functional shotgun, I dismissed him as a moron, but after seeing his dart idea, I had to try it, and they work awesome for shotgun loads.

These little fellas aren't meant for range and accuracy. They're actually perfect for the opposite. I loaded 9 of them into my AT10K and shot at my curtain 30' away. They gave about a 6'-7' spread. Because of the weight being in the middle, it causes them to spin rather than fly straight. Anyway, here's a writeup.

Cut pieces of FBR about 3/8"-1/2" long:

Glue a #8 washer onto one piece:

Put some hot glue onto the top of the washer and glue another piece of foam to it:

Pwn some noobie noobs no-scope style!

It's simple, but these have a great spread that'd be perfect for absolver titans and the like.

You should try out that magical search button that everyone's talkin' 'bout.

EDIT: I wonder if the guy below me realizes that 3/8" is so close to a centimeter that it's disgusting...

So I can't say if the epoxy would hold for 100 cocks or 10.

Actually I just got FBR and cut it into 1/2 pieces then made a big hole in the back and a small one in front. Then put a little hot glue in the front hole and put in a plastic airsoft pellet in. Finally put a little hot glue on top. Since they are lighter then most stefans they scatter. SOme time i put 3 in my Bigblast and it gets about 50-60 feet.

Funny how everyone is into shotguns now. I was thinking of doing something similar to this not long ago, but with a slight difference. I had this idea of taking a normal dart and cutting twice at 45 degree angles to amplify the spread.

Anyway, nice work! I'm gonna make some of these too.

I was into the idea because of my At10K intended to be used as a "grenade launcher" on my longshot. If someone gets within 30' or so, they don't have a very big chance of dodging 9 darts.

You've never seen me dodge darts have you.

Ontopic: I love the idea but how big is the spread considering these darts have an odd weight distribution compared to regular darts.

Ya know, I really, really like this idea.

1. The wieght is completely covered by foam, so it's completely safe at close range.
2. There is a large spread and the range of this "shotgun" is considerably less than that of most singled guns. I know not everyone is a big fan of realism, but in real life and fps shotgun range is much less than that of "rifles" and the like, so it adds a little bit of realism and fairness to the game, e.g. not a titan shotgun with 6 shots that still gets 70's.

You'll do a lot better if you spread the lips with the front. Trying to wriggle the back in there first seems a bit counterintuitive.

Unless it was a weird shot that didn't spread right, you'd be hit. Nine darts in a pretty even spread from 30' or less...yeah...you'd get hit. I don't care how good you think you can dodge. As far as spread, did you try...I don't know...reading the original post?

1. Yep, it sure is.
2. You're right here as well. This will be on an LS, so longer engagements will be for it, and if someone gets too close, I pop them with this thing. I'll note though that if I load the AT10K with 6 regular darts (I've never tested any more than that) it flings darts from as little as 50' to as much as 80' flat.
