My Ballzooka's barrels occasionally fail to rotate. It seems like the mechanism is slipping, but it looks fine internally. Is this a common issue for Ballzookas?

I can't speak for a huge sample size, but I've owned two, and used a couple which I did not own. I've never experienced any rotation problems.

I had a ballzooka that didn't rotate at all, but it was in great condition, I sold it but hopefully you can fix yours.
