shell. And other than that, I think you are better off getting a new one. Aren't they like 20 dollars?
Edit- True, rokor. However, wood is not the best shell material in my experience, and getting darts to go through a barrel fitted into the replica without getting range killed completely would be very, very hard. If he wants a fling of foam, he should get a new one. If he wants range, he should have gone right to the At2K. I too doubt that this will be finished.

I believe he is asking how to create a working NERF version, and since those are wood I dont see much use with those as a
shell. And other than that, I think you are better off getting a new one. Aren't they like 20 dollars?
He wants to make a replica, using a wooden shell will be the closest he is going to get to the real thing. I doubt this is going to be finished, maybe with a 2K/3K tank, but not with a magstrike.

You cannot make an M1 Garand out of a magstrike. The magazine is totally different. The magstrike uses a foot long removable clip. The Garand uses an internal magazine, fed with strip clips that are a few inches long. The magstike is full automatic. The garand is semi auto. The garand (or just .30/06 guns in general) are accurate for several hundred meters. The magstrike is accurate for 50 feet at most. The M1 garand is wood. The magstike is colorful plastic. The magstrike is a toy. The M1 Garand is the gun that won WWII. Any other reasons?
I think he just means the internal air tank to make a NERF gun?
If thats the case I would back away from the idea of a magstrike and look towards using a SM or AT2/3k

What i really want to do is make a gun that fuctions like a M1 garrand and if it slightly resembels the real thing the thats a bonus.

M2: Automatic, removable magazine, 15 rounds, carbine
The latter is the better choice, and fits the M1 profile perfectly, since it's an automatic M1... Given, it's the carbine variant, but there's not an INCREDIBLE amount of difference.
Now, I don't understand all the CoD WaW hype, but the M1 is the rifle that won WWII, and it deserves a nerf gun because of it.
